The Ebbs and The Flows.

14-05-2024 • 1 hr 10 mins

On the 24th episode of The Ebbs and the Flows and our first recorded remotely, Mia Dyson, multi-nominated ARIA artist, acclaimed musician and writer of the rugged and the radiant joins us to discuss her new album 'Tender Heart', how she faced panic and her deepest fears, her cataclysmic brush with the gap between life and death and her tender perspective on love, meditation and the study of the meaning of life and death. This is a most tender and gentle conversation. Welcome to The Ebbs and The Flows, soft chats about hard stuff.

As a precursor, Mia Dyson's heart stopped due to Long QT Syndrome, a heart rhythm disorder which sent her organ into arrhythmia triggered by the earthquake. Nine in 10 people die from their first episode because it is generally undiagnosed until the patient suffers an attack. A truly mesmerising story, and one that solidified her strong and everlasting love to her husband Carl, this is where our conversation starts - where it goes is poetry and jazz.

We cover the 90 second nugget, the Art of The List, The Power and The Process focusing on Mia's new album and the most pivotal parts of her life's journey, Me and The World on a Page and of course, Weird Fishes. Strap yourself in for a rollicking ride, remotely!

Quick note: This was recorded with William (Ebbs) in Adelaide and Mia in Los Angeles via Riverside. The audio is clear, however not quite what it would be in a studio.
