Has the pandemic affected your PhD? In this episode we speak to Jess - a PhD student and Ellen - a postdoc at Social, Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry (SGDP) Centre at King’s College London. They have recently written a blog on Effective Strategies for Working from Home, inspired by an article by Harvard Business Review titled How to (Actually) Save Time When You’re Working Remotely.
We found their blog very relatable and were excited to hear more about the impact the pandemic has had on their work. We discuss how doing a PhD from home is different than being in an office surrounded by other students, how the nature and frequency of meetings have changed and what strategies we have found effective to help us cope with the situation. We're not trying to give any advice because what do we know, but we hope you can maybe relate to our experiences of working from home and not feel too alone in your struggles.
