In this episode Becks catches up with Carl Storey, Farm and Land Enterprises Manager from Hōhepa Hawkes Bay. Carl is a man with a lifetime of experience in the agricultural sector who has travelled and brought some niche cheese-making skills home to Aotearoa, NZ. The work he does with Hōhepa has gifted him some beautiful insights into the world around inclusivity and the joy he has found by being involved shines through in this episode.

This episode is based around the UN Sustainable Development Goal 10 – Reduced Inequalities and and highlights the inspirational community that Hōhepa has created; opening doors for those with disabilities to promote empowerment and inclusion opportunities within agriculture.

As Carl sums it up, the opportunity is for us to learn from them; to learn to take the world at face value, to experience joy at living a meaningful life and to experience a world without barriers of “difference”. This is a touching episode and also provides some very real solutions to labour workforce challenges we are currently experiencing through our sector.
