S3E10- Being a digital nomad, solo-travelling & entrepreneurship
In this episode, I sat down with Christine Kearney aka. lifeby.CK where we discussed an arrayment of topics including how Christine has developed her own business Venga People and currently operates as a self-employed tax consultant in Spain. Christine set up her business after spending four years in the Cayman Islands working for a company and providing tax advice. Upon spending several years developing her tax knowledge she felt it was then time to do what she had always envisioned for herself, that is create flexibility within her work. In setting up her own business, Christine has managed to do just that and now spends her time between Spain, Ireland and any other country she chooses while working online. Christine and I also touched on areas like our professional exams, becoming an accountant/ tax advisor & life as an associate.  Moreover, Christine elaborated on investing, how she manages her money and the minimalist life she has chosen that enables her to live debt-free.  Other areas we discussed included Christine's time as a solo- traveller, how she dealt with the 'gap' in her CV and the various parts of the world she saw while travelling both Europe & Asia. There is no doubt that there is something in this episode for everyone and everyone could most certainly learn one, if not several things from Christine and all the insights she had to share.  So share, download & listen to the episode now, Wishing you nothing but the best in life, SSS x

S3E6- Remaining resilient, showing gratitude & surviving Cancer.
Welcome back listeners- this week I am releasing my conversation with Lauren Barrett, a twenty-three-year-old cancer survivor. To say that this conversation was both inspiring and humbling, would be an understatement and I can not thank Lauren enough for taking the time to sit with me and discuss her story. Lauren and I agreed before recording the podcast, the importance of creating awareness around a situation that so many people experience and endure day-to-day. We hoped that by sharing Lauren's story we could highlight the importance of conducting checks and knowing your body at all ages. So often we can think, 'that will never happen to me' or 'I will never experience something like that' but this podcast was such an eye-opening reminder to everyone, that anyone, at any age, can be subject to what Lauren underwent. Therefore, it is so important that we be as proactive as we can when it comes to our health. I have included below various links that may be of use to people who wish to conduct more regular checks but don't know how or simply forget from time to time. The application below enables one to set reminders every month if they like me, are someone who constantly forgets.  Before asking Lauren on the podcast, what struck me most about Lauren's story was her age and her mindset. As a girl in her early twenties, living a very normal life, she was faced with something that some of us couldn't even bear to imagine but both the courage and strength she displayed throughout her journey was a testament to the resilient person that she is. Throughout this conversation, I was in awe of Lauren's strength, positivity and outlook on life. She thought me so much about the power of our minds and the importance of gratification. She reminded me that we always have something in our lives that we can be grateful for and when we can train our minds to see those things (even in the darkest of days), that is when we can truly harness and master the power of positivity.  Please like, download and share this episode with as many people as possible and help us in spreading the word on the importance of proactiveness.
