Non-Fungible Rebels

Today I'm having a conversation with the artist Billelis.

In this episode we discuss:

  • His 10-year journey of "overnight" success
  • His transition from being sceptical and not believing in NFTs to becoming one of the most successful NFT artists
  • What will happen when the hype around NFTs calms down?
  • How he chooses his collection pieces

Food for thought

  • Digital artists’ gallery exposition space was social media. I don’t know if Instagram’s success would be the same if it wasn’t for artists, photographers, and all these creative people that used it as a showcasing medium for what we do now.
  • There are many moments in many artists' careers when you’re ready to say “fuck this shit. I’m done”
  • We all focus on what is next so much but then we forget where we’ve come from and how far we have come in the journey of what we do.
  • Digital art deserves it’s to have a medium that is native to it.
  • Building your connections and your audience is very important. people expect it to happen instantly. It takes time, it is work.
