In the 13th episode of the podcast, we dive into the remarkable motor racing journey of Todd Hazelwood. From his humble beginnings attending race meetings at just six weeks old to dominating dirt karting and transitioning to open wheeler racing, Todd's story is a blend of natural talent, hard work, and seizing the right opportunities.
After showing plenty of promise in Australian Formula 3 in spite of financial challenges to fund his racing, Todd's career took a definitive turn when he won the Shannons Supercar Showdown in 2013, propelling him into the world of Supercars where his determination paved the way for his success. His notable achievements include winning the Mike Kable Rookie of the Year in 2014, the Super2 title in 2017 and earning his maiden pole position and podium finish in the Supercars Championship in 2020.
In 2024, Todd joined Erebus Motorsport for their enduro campaign and is currently relishing his role as ‘caretaker’ of the team’s Chevrolet Camaro usually piloted by 2023 Supercars Champion, Brodie Kostecki.
Beyond the racetrack, Todd Hazelwood's interests extend to classic cars, particularly old Fords. His passion for car restoration shines through in projects like the Ford Falcon XC station wagon and the Australian-assembled Ford Zephyr, revealing a different facet of this talented driver.
