Jacob had been fighting since he was in the womb; struggling even before he was born. It’s a battle that he had embarked on, we could even say, before conception. While in his mother’s womb, Jacob and his twin brother Esau fought each other before they were born. When you look at Jacob’s life, you realise that he was fighting throughout his entire life.
This reflects the reality for some of us. There are those who have been fighting battles even before conception, whose destinies were called into existence even before their fathers met their mothers, due to curses that their fathers had to bear because someone became angry and cursed the descendants that would come from them. Exodus 34:7 speaks about generational curses extending to the 3rd and 4th generations. If the 3rd and 4th generations are cursed, this suggests that the curse existed even before conception, and many of us are born under this type of curse. Therefore, sometimes what you’re fighting and struggling against is something older than you-older than three generations.
