Who is the Middle Aged Running Man, or MARM for short? If the YouTube page he runs is to believed he is, ‘a running channel with a middle-aged man in it. Running’. The brevity of that description hasn’t stopped almost three-and-a-half thousand subscribers rush to enjoy the race days vlogs and reviews the channel provides.

The man behind it is Tim Stent, and his fans - aka The MARMY Army - are treated to sometimes serious, often sarcastic and always hilarious videos from a host of races across the UK.

Tim only started running in 2014, according to his very first video as “we had just had twin girls” and he wanted to “fight off death”.He quickly became obsessed and by 2018 was taking on three half-marathons in as many weekends, an experience which he says did nearly kill him.

Three years later, he ran a half-marathon in every weekend of 2021.The YouTube channel was launched a year later as he attempted to do the same challenge again and has since chronicled a wide-range of activities and adventures.
