Learning a new language is challenging and rewarding. But flashcards and textbooks don't sound out the words. Listeners can add to their knowledge with the Learn English Through Listening podcast. The Adept English site creates the podcast.

Hilary Platt is the host of Learn English Through Listening. She is a qualified teacher with degrees in Latin and psychology. Hilary is passionate about teaching languages. She saw how frustrated students could get when trying to learn a new language. Students spent years reading and writing English, but still had trouble speaking English. So, Hilary created the "listen and learn" approach as a solution for beginners.

The Learn English Through Listening podcast series uses this approach to help people learn English. Learners will listen to English spoken in everyday contexts. With this method, listeners can take their skills beyond textbooks. They can learn English in a usable and fun way. Episodes range from pop culture news to grammar and vocabulary reviews.

Hilary shares popular stories and pulls out helpful vocabulary words. Listeners can hear the words in a real context rather than reading on a screen or flipping through cards. Learn English Through Listening episodes also include transcripts. So learners can get extra insight into unfamiliar words.

Whether someone is new or advanced in learning English, anyone can enjoy this. Learners at all levels will gain new insights. They will learn valuable tips for using English in everyday conversations.
