For 1,763 days, Sir Terry Waite KCMG CBE was held in captivity in Beirut, the first four years of which were spent in solitary confinement.

Two years after his release in 1991, he published his first book, the international bestselling memoir Taken On Trust, chronicling his experiences from memory.

On the 30th anniversary of Taken On Trust, humanitarian, British Quaker, Anglian and author Sir Terry Waite joins the 'Good Journeys with Second Mountain' podcast and YouTube show to recall his experiences in captivity and explore how his time held hostage informed his life and worldview.

Sir Terry shares his experiences of being held hostage, his learnings from his years of solitude, his personal journey of faith, reconciliation and forgiveness, and his humanitarian work with Emmaus UK and Hostage International.
