038| Your Vision is Worthy of Preparing with Jenn Laforet
Your vision is yours alone. When I chose to release everything that wasn't a match to my values or goals, I allowed myself to align with what was in harmony with them. In the renewal of that moment, I remembered that my vision was indeed mine alone. Not only that, but I knew that it was now and always had been worthy. The gift of space within the pages of my journal allowed me to uncover that awareness and reclaim it. I now know that it was all within me. I only had to look. In this episode, I share a bloom note and journal prompt from my season of new beginnings. It's your turn to look as you release, renew, nurture and love yourself within. So that you, too, can reclaim and work from your vision, knowing that it is yours alone. It is now and always has been worthy, just as you are. I'm so glad you're here. Episode 038 is the final instalment of the Bloom Notes in Bloom podcast. I have loved every minute of sharing these conversations with you. Thirty-eight hours of powerful stories with guests from around the world. The intention of this podcast was always to be an extension of the five guided reflection journals that I created. Stories you could connect to as you craft your own narrative and navigate change within the privacy of your pages. The reference to more solo episodes to dig into those themes over the next few months? That looks like you taking time for yourself. You’ve already proven you can show up for yourself week after week. Now it’s time to continue the work you’ve already begun. Those new guest episodes in 2023 I mentioned in the final episode? They are you sharing your stories in your own life with those who are worthy of receiving them because your voice and words matter, now and always. In 38 episodes, Bloom Notes in Bloom touched the hearts and minds of women and men around the world, with listeners in: CanadaAustraliaFinlandIrelandUnited StatesUnited KingdomGermanyPhilippinesSpainIndiaThailandNetherlandsRussiaDenmark Other creative projects will unfold, but in the meantime, I’m celebrating the completion of a chapter with this body of work that I could not be more proud of. 031 | Reconnecting to Joy Through the Healing Power of Nature in Community with Women at Soul Full Camp with Jenn Laforet
Who creates a life without joy? That's so structured that everything must go a particular way? That's exactly where I found myself—stuck in my life doing all the right things with little room for joy, the unexpected or better than I knew to ask for. The awareness of that seven years ago began the unearthing. It took me six years to allow myself to be in community with women and leave room for the unexpected because, at camp, you never know what kind of fun will turn the corner. The connection you might make. The conversation you might have. It's all so powerful and personal. I remember last August thinking, can I really allow myself to do this? Am I brave and bold enough to allow myself to be vulnerable in that space? I wasn't sure. By the end of that first camp, I knew why I was there. In June, we talked about different ways that nature can nurture and support us as we navigate different seasons of our lives. For a long time, I really felt pulled to be in nature whenever anything felt too heavy or unmanageable. If I wasn't sure which direction to take personally or professionally, I've often found myself seeking the forest. So much of that time was me thinking I had to be alone in nature and not allow other people to support me. That continues to be one of my greatest lessons over the past five years. I don't have to do it alone. Many people in my life want to support me. That would love nothing more than for me to reach out. This episode reflects on my journey of allowing myself to be in community with other women and connect on a deeper, meaningful level in nature. If you're used to doing everything yourself, it can be scary to reach out. This is your invitation to press play on today's episode. 030 | Softening Your Gaze on Imperfections as You Find Your Path Forward through Experiential Connections in the Natural Environment with Erin Teigen
In this episode, I have the pleasure of introducing you to Erin Teigen. Erin is a clinical social worker, who offers nature-based and animal-assisted therapy and coaching at her private practice, Elevation Ecotherapy. The practice is based on her holistic farm, Heartwood Meadows, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia in the United States. She finds meaning in offering a well-being haven for individuals and families to cultivate sustainable resilience and empower holistic growth through experiential connections within nature. "Nature can be incredibly helpful for releasing that judgement and softening your gaze on imperfections. There are many times in our lives when we can feel that there are failures and a demand to be perfect. When we're out in nature with the trees, flowers, and birds, they're not looking at us and judging our appearance, our success at our jobs, or our ability to stay in a marriage. They're just seeing if we treat their safe space with respect."   The desire to soften your gaze on your own imperfections is your invitation to press play on this episode.  Insight delivered with deep care is always close at hand in conversation with Erin.  It's my pleasure to share her with you. 028 | Reconnect to Your Sense of Self One Moment at a Time with the Healing Power Nature through the Practice of Forest Bathing with Cat de Wit-Peijs
In this episode. I have the pleasure of introducing you to Cat de Wit-Peijs. Cat is the founder of Forest Bathing Wicklow. After seven years of sharing her love of Ireland as a tour guide, Cat trained as a forest bathing guide in 2021 to share the benefits she experienced in the garden of Ireland, as Wicklow is affectionately known, with others. There are so many healing powers present in nature. During the first few months of lockdown, people were desperate to connect with other people again, but if you met people in the street, people would only talk about how horrible Covid had been. Forest bathing allowed people to connect with themselves and each other. Posing questions like: What is happening in nature at this moment? What is happening within yourself at this moment? It wasn't about what do you do for a living? Where are you from? The competitiveness of society is released, everyone is equal, and it's all about what is happening at this moment. What are you experiencing? There's no winning or losing. You'll experience everything you need when you allow yourself to open up to it. Allowing yourself to feel anonymous in the community and the forest will enable you to activate healing at a deeper level. It will enable you to release self-editing and judgement because no one knows who you are. No one knows what your story is. Whether it's the story that you tell yourself or a story that others have placed on you. The desire to reconnect to the healing power of the forest is your invitation to press play on this episode. Rich insight is always close at hand in conversation with Cat. It's my pleasure to share her with you. Chantal works with clients with disabilities, trauma, or life challenges to grow resilience, psychosocial skills, emotional regulation and relationship-building skills. She facilitates the space for people to explore blockages in their life and help them find solutions through their own innate wisdom, using the horses as a medium. Chantal cuts right to the chase in the opening with this piece of wisdom: "Mindfulness is a really big part of what I do with equine-assisted learning. One of the most beautiful things about horses is that they exist completely in the present moment. They're not thinking about what happened yesterday or what will happen tomorrow. They're thinking about what's here right now, and so to spend time with them being mindful, coming back into your own body and being present reconnects you with yourself." The desire to reconnect to Mindfulness around allowing your authentic self to be seen is your invitation to press play on this episode. 023 | Paint and Pencil Play as a Mindfulness Practice to Bring Yourself Back to the Present Moment with Jahje Ives
In this episode, I have the pleasure of sitting down again with Jahje Ives, an artist, storyteller and the mindful creator of Baby Jives Co. and her membership Cultivating in Creativity. Jahje first joined me on the podcast back in December for Episode 005: Reconnect to Presence and Feeling as You Reclaim Joy One Moment at a Time, Through Creativity, Wonder and Play.  In the month of May, we are journeying through mindfulness and exploring what that means in various modalities how creativity can be used as a mindfulness tool.  Mindfulness on its own can seem difficult to access. How can we find tools that help us create that practice that works for us because we're individuals and have different needs? Creativity has been such a mindfulness tool in my life. Today, we are zoning in on the emotional barometer and how art can help us navigate change. As children, we completely knew about that mindful aspect of art. When they want to sink in, they grab their art supplies. Circles on a piece of paper. Joy and abandonment. As we grow up as adults, we are told that art is supposed to look or be a certain way, and we need to give up this tool immediately because we are wasting our time. Jahje is adamant about busting this myth. She cuts right to the chase in the opening with this piece of wisdom: "Art is a mindfulness tool that is everyone. It is scientifically proven that art helps us to enter that flow state where mindfulness exists." I turned to art to use it as a tool to relax my brain as I navigated a season of change, and it continues to support me to this day. The desire to reconnect to mindfulness in your own life is your invitation to press play on this episode. Wonder, joy, and play are always close at hand in conversation with Jahje. 021 | Reconnecting and Reclaiming Trust, Integrity and Respect Within Your Sense of Self One Moment at a time, Through Equine Assisted Therapy with Kiara Moore
In this episode, I introduce you to Kiara Moore. Kiara is a Clinical Social Worker and Equine Assisted Therapist in Queenstown, New Zealand. She offers traditional room-based counselling and nature-based counselling. She runs her own private practice called Aspiring Therapy and is most passionate about supporting women who struggle with their mental health find a sense of belonging.  Many of Kiara's clients were disconnected from themselves and nature, and she started developing 'walk and talks.' Integrating horses into her therapeutic practice has been amazing, as many of her clients say they connect with animals more easily than humans. This led her to become trained as an equine therapist.  Connecting with animals is such a great bridge for people struggling to connect interpersonally. Having that outlet to connect to an animal and having that animal help you connect back to yourself.  Horses have this ability just to be non-judgemental and accept who you are.  So many women, when they're navigating change, they're re-learning to be that partner in their own life and trust themselves. If that's where you are, then this is your invitation to press play on today's episode.  Kiara cuts right to the chase with this piece of wisdom:  "Many of my clients form a strong bond with the horse in the first session. They release a tremendous amount of emotions in that first session because of the self-acceptance and non-judgemental nature of the horse." I had my first horse experience this past September at 41 years old.    You don't have to be a "horse person" to tune in. Wisdom and grace are always close at hand in conversation with Kiara.  It's my pleasure to share her with you.  Here's how you can connect with Kiara and learn more about the tools and resources she mentioned in the episode: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/aspiringtherapy/ Website: https://aspiringtherapy.co.nz/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/bloomnotesinbloom/message

You are learning to trust yourself again because you don't have the desire to try something new for no reason. You dare to show up for yourself and honour your intuition to try something new.
