In his view, to truly relish the rich, emotional meals, you need a balance of regular, simple food to appreciate the good stuff. My Perspective: I believe food holds emotional meaning, and the effort and taste should be what matters most, without needing to balance it with "normal" food. We may disagree, but through our conversation, we find some common ground. I acknowledge that if I keep eating the delicious meals my mom used to make, I might take them for granted—just like I did growing up.
