E23: Do you Declutter Your (Mind/Body) Mess?
16-11-2023
E23: Do you Declutter Your (Mind/Body) Mess?
I recorded this episode about 5 days ago in the midst of clearing out my office.   Whilst working through the physical clutter (such as the accumulation of paperwork, books, certificates, flyers etc) it got me thinking… We collect things.   We collect crap.  We hold onto ‘stuff’ that doesn’t serve us.  As we have more access to space/years/knowledge we hold onto more stuff.   Remember when you were a baby or a small child - you owned nothing; no belongings you’d purchased yourself, not many long term memories, no “baggage”, not many self limiting beliefs (if any), no fully developed awareness of self and others, no articulated learned experience.   But fast forward to our 30’s and 40’s and beyond and what we do have/hold - tonnes of crap, and not just in our homes but also in our mind and body!So this podcast is just a positive ponder on the art of decluttering our life.  We do it with our rooms, our homes, our car, our careers even, but do we do it with ourselves???   Do we let go and metaphorically ‘bin’ the things that no longer serve us?  If we don’t then we have to deal with the impact of accumulation and overcrowding and hanging onto things that we no longer need or don’t provide value anymore.   Holding onto all of this mental (and embodied) clutter is going to cause chaos in your relationships with yourself and others, which is only going to lead to challenges in physical and mental wellbeing. So today, let’s talk about this analogy of decluttering where I’ll bring in a snapshot of thoughts and wisdom of others from their teachings and shares, and give you a bit of food for thought with how we should cleanse and renew ourselves on the regular for a closer shot at living a life of clarity and joy.As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.  Also, if you’re interested in coaching with me then please connect with me on social media or via the details in the shows home page, alternatively you can pop a discovery chat in the diary with me by using this link: https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/discovery-call Much love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast. E22: Expand Yourself With Hard Emotions

E22: Expand Yourself With Hard Emotions
Imagine if you could use your tough, ikky, hard emotions to expand yourself!   Well you can.     In today's masterclass I’m going to cover the emotions of fear, sadness, grief, anger, confusion, loneliness, jealousy and guilt, and help you reposition them so that you can find their power AND their message.   But to do this you've got to listen to their noise…  get ready to turn up the volume!Life is a myriad of shit-storms amongst our preferred bed of roses, but when we get struck with a difficult situation and it brings with it the “negative” emotions the last thing we want to do is bury them - this might seem counter-intuitive, but by being in the emotion we get some clarity of intention.  Let’s stick to a plan of action to celebrate the message in the mess.In this week’s episode I’ll take you through a technique that you can use to re-frame your hard emotions through the use of words and colours alongside embodiment and leaning into the emotion itself.  But we’re not re-framing them in a way to ignore them or discount them, but rather letting them stand in all their glory and delivery of their message.  By choosing acceptance of these feelings/emotions then we can move into a place of expansion where growth becomes our driving force. And if that wasn’t enough, I’m also going to take each of the hard emotions I’ve focused on and give you at least 3 activities that you can do to allow you to lean into the emotion and teach yourself a new way of acting on it.  As the teacher and the student you will then be able to cherish these emotions as expansive and transformational by positively receiving the subliminal messaging they deliver with much more clarity. As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E21: Do You For You - With Grace and Compassion

E21: Do You For You - With Grace and Compassion
Life is such a myriad of assumptions, requirements, projections and standards, especially when it comes to interpersonal and romantic relationships.  We take our unique style and try to find someone to complement that and also even mirror it.   But it’s pretty impossible because we’re all different.Yet we give advice and receive advice throughout our life and how can this advice always ring true for you - it’s received by you but given by someone else.  What works for one person may not work for another, and therefore we receive and perceive everything so differently.  That’s why we just all need to be ourselves and make our own choices without guilt, shame or judgement.   The key here is to accept and own ourselves with grace and compassion, and extend this human right to others in your space. We’re all products of our own environment, our past, our present, our genetics, our epigenetics, our childhood and our adult relationships - we are shaped by so much and this is even more apparent as we move through life.  When you hit your 40’s you’ve usually worked out who you are and are ready to either lean into that or make some changes so you can become the person you’re now ready to be.  We can't be railroaded to be who someone else wants us to be.  So just be you and do your own thing. In this episode I’ll go through what shapes us in life from trauma to attachment types to societal conditioning, personal values and even your horoscope.  If you mix everything up we will never be a mirror image of anyone.  And that’s okay.  We need to embrace the value of difference and accept who and how we are.    The episode will finish with a snapshot of how to do you for you.As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.  Also, if you’re interested in coaching with me then please connect with me on social media or via the details in the shows home page, alternatively you can pop a discovery chat in the diary with me by using this link: https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/discovery-callMuch love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast. E20: How to Handle Wrong Decisions & Choice
28-09-2023
E20: How to Handle Wrong Decisions & Choice
Let’s talk about doing stuff wrong.   Hands up if you’ve EVER made a wrong choice or a bad decision?  Hmmm, I can see a lot of hands going up here (honestly, I can).  I put both my hands up, and my feet!     Sooooo many times.   But hey, I don’t regret it (even the costly ones), but I do recognise that feeling of “oooohhhh sh!t, what have I done??”We’ve all been there and realised we’ve made a boo-boo of the highest order.  We’ve misused our time, our money, our energy, our intentions.  We’ve backed the wrong horse and it has created a real dilemma.     But it’s about owning this and stepping up to reclaim the situation and deal with it!    Not ignore it.   No, deal with!  In this week's podcast I’ll talk about regret, calculated risks, damage limitation and the sunk cost fallacy.  I’ll also highlight the chaos of emotions we feel from bad choices; anger, guilt, frustration, annoyance, sadness, and despair.     And it’s okay to stay in this place for a short while as emotions need to play out, but you CANNOT stay there.   Let’s get you back on track.I’ve give you a viewpoint on a few examples and then I’ll highlight some key actions that you must take to get yourself out of harm's way, because the more you  sit and don’t act, the more you’ll get deeper and deeper into stress, regret and despair.     The best thing you can do in these situations, as always, is take agency and own yourself.     We are flawed human beings, no one is perfect, period.   So as soon as we recognise that life isn’t a series of great choices and best decisions then the sooner we can roll with those punches and get back up when we go down.As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E19: When No Means No - The Voice of Women

E19: When No Means No - The Voice of Women
TRIGGER WARNING: It’s taken 2 years for me to activate my voice on this matter but with the recent media events of a famous comedian, it’s opened the door for me to stand in my power and talk out about my own experiences of sexual assault. In doing so I hope that more women will feel stronger to speak out of their experiences, and even more importantly that any men listening will get a reminder that this behaviour is not okay. If this will trigger you then you may choose to skip the episode, or feel safety in knowing that you are not alone.I’m a feminist but that doesn't mean I dislike men - in fact the very opposite is true. But most countries and cultures are inadvertently governed by the patriarchy, either historically or currently, and only in recent years have women gained more rights for equality and to activate their voice and power, but this hasn’t been as rapid and is by no means equal. Hence why I’m a feminist; for equality of power and rights. As a woman it’s super hard for us to find our voice after abuse and sexual assault, although with the #metoo movement and the furore after a British police officer sexually assaulted and murdered a member of the public that he was employed to protect, there have been some changes. I’ve had experiences with the police where they’ve not effectively, or empathetically, listened to my allegations and I wanted to speak out after my last experience ended up in me NOT going to the police. As women, we don’t talk about our encounters due to the shame, the guilt, and the potential assumptions that people will make as well as the reliving and the extension of the trauma. I’ve had 5 sexual boundary violations throughout my life (I say 5 as the more serious but of course cat calling, slapping your bum and just general maltreatment of me as a woman will account for way more than 5 times). I’ll also talk about relationships and encounters with dark triads, sexual predators and misogynists and how this can hold us in a trauma bond whilst they demean us and break us down with their bad behaviour and unscrupulous ways. This is why boundaries and self agency are so important. Because, way back when, I didn’t have any. Not that boundaries stop a sexual predator, but they do potentially move you a little out of harm's way. It took a cancer diagnosis to make me sit up and listen to my nervous system and its people pleasing tendencies that had developed over years in the trauma response. I developed acute symptoms of PTSD (after my experience in 2021) and I’ve since done work on this and identified why I was a possible target (attachment type, ADHD, empath, self esteem, people pleaser, lack of boundaries). EMDR has helped me massively.**Disclaimer - none of this was my fault/is your fault. I’m just explaining why I might have been easy prey after the perpetrators sussed me out. So be your own bodyguard and get yourself some boundaries.**As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E18: Stay Brilliant - Go Where You're Celebrated

E18: Stay Brilliant - Go Where You're Celebrated
Have you ever felt that your value and contribution isn’t being recognised and your brilliance is being overshadowed by some kind of dumbing-down?  This could be in work, relationships, or life in general, but either way it’s impacting your confidence and self esteem.  But the worst part is that this isn’t even an accurate reflection of how you feel about yourself but rather how someone else is treating you, and therefore making you feel…When we’re not fulfilled or given the chance to shine we become disengaged, disempowered and oftentimes we move into low vibration energy that changes our entire mood and self belief and puts us into an apathetic state of being.  But this is NOT where we want to be because it steals our soul and wastes our precious time alive. In this week's episode I’m going to introduce you to the ‘shrink’ zone, which is the opposite of the ‘stretch’ zone and sits behind your comfort zone.   Shrinking is worse than just being comfy because when you’re in this position (and not by initial choice) it’s going to slowly chink away at your brilliance and dull your sparkle.  In the shrink zone, you will feel ‘less than’ what you know you are what you truly have to offer and this can have a huge detriment to our confidence and self esteem!   I’ll recap on some of Maslows Hierachy of Needs and other previous episode topics, touch on the burnout versus boreout phenomenons, and introduce you to hygiene and motivation factors and why we need to be in the ‘achievement zone’ and not the ‘apathy zone’ to feel psychologically safe and accountable/empowered at work .   I’ll also highlight why our intimate relationship needs and attachment types can also muddy the waters of confidence and self esteem if we’re not with someone who is allowing us to be the best version of ourselves through keeping us small, shrinking our soul, or not recognising our value. At the end of this episode I’ll give a few steps on the best way to get out of this space to avoid inertia creeping in by identifying exactly what you bring to the table, what you want from your life, and by standing in your power and taking action to  change your life, reclaim your brilliance, and stop that shrinking feeling inside! As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed!  Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.  Also, if you’re interested in coaching with me then please connect with me on social media or via the details in the shows home page, alternatively you can pop a discovery chat in the diary with me by using this link: https://calendly.com/vitalvibe/introduction-call Much love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast. E17: Pivot the Roadblocks of Life

E17: Pivot the Roadblocks of Life
What happens when we’re happily meandering through life and we’re on track with our goals and aligning to our vision and values, but something stops us dead in those tracks?  Well, let's face it, we usually freak out a little!     Especially when it’s something beyond our control or it’s turbulence that we hadn’t prepared for in our “blue sky” thinking.    These situations can sometimes really throw our ideals off track because we’re not prepared for them in the way that we had planned our ideal and linear approach in optimum conditions! But what if we can work in a way that is a bit more pragmatic and go with the flow of traffic?   This is where we can look at pivoting, a bit like a business start up does when they’ve gotten going with their prototype and realised that some of the conditions, or some of the product, or some of the customer appetite is not how they had imagined or planned.   So what do they do?  They course correct - they move to where the blue skies are and follow the money. In life we’re not all about following the money, but as a metaphor from the world of business, we can see that for all intents and purposes, this is the end goal.  Money (as a metaphor) is our pot at the end of the rainbow. So if we have an end goal in life (or at least for that period of time) but conditions take over and leave us a bit high and dry we need to find a way to deal with it.   That might be retracting completely, continuing regardless, or finding an alternative way, which is what we need to do to allow ourselves to gracefully deal with the roadblocks.By setting ourselves up with options and then weighing these up as viable or not viable, we can then make informed and fully owned decisions about pivoting to make life a lot less hellish and take back control of the wheel! E16: Banish Self Doubt to Boost Confidence

E16: Banish Self Doubt to Boost Confidence
Lacking in confidence is a nuisance nemesis and can either make us or break us… but get this, everyone lacks confidence in certain things!  Not one single person walking this planet is confident all the time, and at everything.   Even if they look like they are, think twice!    Don’t imagine that it’s only you that struggles here.  We all do!!!  However, we will always find our confidence when we feel sure of ourselves and our abilities, so to break this confidence block we need to get rid of self doubt! This episode will break down the self doubt gremlins that reside deep inside us and why they allow our fear to take-over, and why we then tell ourselves a bundle of lies about the possibility of success!  I will give you a real life example that happened to me and how I went from a very clear zero to a hero! When we get interference from our thoughts, opinions of others, lack of experience, pressure from ourselves and others, OR lack of support, we can CAVE.  But, if we switch all of this around and cultivate positive self love, thoughts of brilliance, silencing the chatter and the monkey in our brain, creating repetition and progress to build skills and knowledge, and finding the necessary support, then we can CRUSH it!!!I’ll give you around 15 hacks to bolster your confidence and each one can be used in different scenarios and in different energies i.e. some are reflecting and intention setting, whilst others are more pragmatic and practical enhancements.   There are many routes to bolstering confidence but the number one requirement is desire!   If we desire something then we can pull on all the resources that we can find to create and cultivate a formidable confidence in ourselves and when we have this we will bring the magic.“Where your attention goes, energy flows and results show” As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E15: Be Self Accountable and Self Aware for Change
How can you move forward if you don’t know what’s holding you back?    In this episode I’m going to give you a format for assessing where you’re at, where you want to be, and how to get there.  In doing this work you can clearly see your gaps and your blind spots but it won’t come without a bit of introspection and reflection and some hard feedback from people who want to see you win! When we split our life into two (the present and the future) we can deep dive a bit more into where we’d like to be and what’s either allowing us or stopping us from getting there.  We can map out a picture of desirability and put in a step by step plan on how to get there.    We might also HAVE to do a piece of change, so rather than it being motivated by desire (pull factor) you are being motivated by necessity (push factor), which can actually be a bit harder. This podcast will talk you through some business change and project management approaches and jargon that can easily be adopted in your own life - in fact it’s a good framework to follow for change, because it works!     We get a chance to ask lots of questions and really get under the skin of what the current weakness, problem or threat is as well as considering the strengths, the opportunities and the motivation for change.   Once we know this we can look at things like feasibility of the proposed/desired change, the resources available to make it happen (versus what’s required), and also levels of commitment from yourself and the available support from others.  In combination with the process bit there’s also a huge piece on self awareness because no matter how much you might want something if you’re standing in your own way then it's a sure non-starter.   You have to get out of your own way, but sometimes you might not even be aware you are in it!    So I’ll guide you a little into how you can start to open up your levels of self awareness so you can mindfully grow and change with ease!As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E14: Values Create Your Roadmap for Life!

E14: Values Create Your Roadmap for Life!
Values are part of our personal Code of Conduct alongside boundaries and personal needs, so if we don’t know them or live in accordance with them, how can we live our best life?   Not only do they create a roadmap for life, but they also give us comfort, joy and purpose.  This episode will deep dive into how we come to the conclusion of our values.  Some of them we inherit or are norms and practices, but they’re not always our own, so we need to work out exactly what we want to live by, and die by!   Not only do our values create a life of intention but they also create a legacy of what we leave (or live) behind!   When we embody our values through behaviour and actions we become aligned to our authenticity and vice versa; our authenticity is what makes our values specific to us.  We need to use values as a benchmark for our own standards as well as those of others, particularly in relationships and with our work (either your employers or your own business brand values).Towards the end of this episode I’ll give you a business strategy analogy that will outline the components needed for your personal Code of Conduct and some helpful pointers on how to identify your values and live by them so as to live your best life!As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E13: Boundaries - Traffic Lights of Wellbeing
10-08-2023
E13: Boundaries - Traffic Lights of Wellbeing
Following on from last week's episode on needs, let's get down to business.  Boundaries keep the riff-raff out - they stop negative energy dead in its tracks and they safeguard our wellbeing.  Yet, most people don’t have them, or have them but don’t communicate them, or have them AND communicate them, but let them switch to ‘green’ when they should constantly be on ‘red’.   Or worse still they’ve been violated despite our best efforts.    But boundaries still safeguard us to the best of their ability - that's why we must have them. This week's podcast explains why boundaries are so important for our balance, our brilliance and our resilience and why we need to focus on creating them, setting them, communicating them and adhering to them.    Without this traffic light system in place we have no way of regulating or protecting our vibrational energy. We need to align our boundaries to our values and then we know that we have a compass for life that keeps us on track and stops us veering off into the swampland from the beautiful kempt woodland.     So please take this episode as a lesson for life so that you can call timeout on people and things that don’t respect your needs, and start putting yourself and your wellbeing first. E12: Snakes & Ladders of Life - Maslow's Needs
03-08-2023
E12: Snakes & Ladders of Life - Maslow's Needs
This episode is the precursor to next week's episode on boundaries and is a short session on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. I personally love this model because it makes so much sense to what we crave and desire in life from a motivation perspective.  When we recognise our own needs, we can then identify if they’re being met or not and this will allow us to get more specific on our boundaries, as well as our drivers in life at certain points (because life is not linear).  Our basic needs such as physiological, through to safety and security, and love and belonging are essential to creating a healthy person.  We need these building blocks to become the best version of ourselves and we start with these needs from the moment we’re conceived!   Then further beyond this we look to fine tune our persona, our offer, our purpose, our legacy through esteem and actualisation.  Only then can we truly operate from a place of mastery and transcendence. I’ll talk you through the original 5 levels and then the 3 later additions and explain the split between the deficiency needs (d-needs) and the being/growth needs (b-needs) and why there is a clearly defined split. Having our needs met throughout life equates to a well rounded and healthy human with the ability to absolutely flex our balance, brilliance and resilience as we need to.  But if these needs are not met at any time through the curve balls of life, or situations we slowly end up in, then we can be right back at the base; gasping for air and looking for shelter. To know this is to understand the tapestry of life, and why it’s essential we build our balance, brilliance and resilience as we go.As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! Choose your hard, move the needle, let’s f*&king go, yadda yadda yadda!   So many powerful statements that can kick us into action, but do they? The concept of choosing your hard means making a sacrifice to do something that could be hard to do, but in return it will decrease the existing ‘hard’ of your life, so basically it’s easier than the consequences of not doing it or sticking with the same.     Basically we make choices in life that will either pay dividends or cost dividends.  So in this week’s podcast I’ll take you through a couple of examples of my own scenarios to explain what this means in practice, even when I got diagnosed with Cancer! But, what if life is already hard, you’re already in disarray and chronic overwhelm, then the term ‘choose your hard’ could feel even more overwhelming when actually what  we need to do is take care of ourselves without making life harder!     Also, if something is a huge challenge of will power then if we reframe it, it might increase our chances of actually making it.So how about we choose our easy instead? If you want the preamble then listen from the start but if you want to get to the ‘choose your easy’ guidance, then skip to about 14 minutes in.   From this point I’ll introduce you to the concept of being a 'budd-ass' and give some high level overview on goal setting both from a ‘choose your hard’ perspective or from a ‘choose your easy’ perspective.  From a choose your easy perspective I’ll introduce you to micro movements so that by the end of the year those tiny steps add up to one pretty big leap.   Basically, wherever we are in life we have to move forward (or at least try to avoid going backwards) but it’s okay to do it to your own rhythm. E10: Radical Self Responsibility is a Must!

E10: Radical Self Responsibility is a Must!
Let’s get down to business this week and talk about radical self responsibility (RSR)! Ooooh, I just love that term!!    Radical means immense, and self responsibility is all about your commitment to yourself, so we’re here to make you immense through your own actions!    Only one person can change your life or align it to your values and vision, and that’s you!So this week's episode is an overview rather than a masterclass as such - I’m not going to tell you how to do it, but I’m hoping I will inspire you to do it!   RSR is a piece of work that we can literally take to our grave and if we don’t start now, then when?  I’ll take you on a whistle stop tour of what RSR means and what it consists of as well as its value and impact on your relationship with yourself and others in all areas of life.  I’ll walk through a bit of my story with RSR and also why it cropped up as a more prominent need in certain times of my life, whilst being a continuous theme.      Having RSR means we can proactively create a life that is aligned to our values and a way of living that fits our desires.  Otherwise we will just be accepting where and who we are without self enquiry or operating from a place of self agency and owning yourself. To support the self responsibility piece, I’ll also  give you a very short overview of the need and difference for working with a therapist and a coach and why investing in yourself is a must to move your life to where you wish to go.   By taking control of your life and opening your mind to how you can make this happen, and what you must do to take radical responsibility, you will improve not only your relationship with yourself and others. E9: Emotions, Vulnerability and Time Out!

E9: Emotions, Vulnerability and Time Out!
This week is a bit of a pattern interrupt because life got me!   I wanted to share my own situation and how it affected me last week, because I was in a bit of an emotional mess and it stopped me dead in my tracks.I wanted to record an episode to show you that life happens to us all and even coaches are human beings who have curve balls hit them, and yes it affects us too!  But part of our offering to clients is having been in your shoes and being able to empathise with your situation; put it this way, had I never been in your shoes how could I coach you through it with sensitivity and understanding, and into a place of balance, brilliance, and resilience! So this week I’ll use my own current turbulence to explain why it’s important to accept where we’re at and meet ourselves there without judgement or resentment of self.   Sitting with our feelings can be hard for many and we sometimes try to suppress these which means the body's signalling and messages aren’t being dealt with and then expelled through our system as they should be.  Instead they stay blocked inside us and create either point-in-time or future body dysregulation.   We have emotions for a reason and accepting them and not letting them fester in the body is a healthier way to deal with them.I’ll also explain the importance of self compassion so that we don’t block our feelings or let our ego say too much and become a slave to our mind or our body.   A few key ways to address this are mindfulness and yoga nidra.    But it’s not just the body energy, it's your dialogue to yourself too - are you acting like a person that loves the person you’re talking to?  You should be…Finally, I’ll give you a quick overview on three relationship triangles; the drama/rescuer triangle, the winning triangle, and the empowerment triangle and share my stepped approach to move through them in a way that feels safe for you and not too contrived (or toxic positivity).     I’ll then end on a short synopsis of being stoic versus being vulnerable and why it doesn’t really pay to adopt the former approach, although some people still prefer this methodology for dealing with their emotions.  Personally, it’s not for me!As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones! E8: Become a Master of Self Advocacy
Imagine you could move through the roadblocks in life with a clear line of sight and an orientation to reach your destination as you desire!   Well you can!  Come with me on this 50 minute masterclass and let me change your mindset to one of tenacity, perseverance and self empowerment.  I’m going to give you an overview of when, how, and why we MUST self advocate. In this episode I’ll cover off how to self advocate for our health, career, relationships and with suppliers to ensure that you will get what you need in life and are not left (literally) gasping for breath, potentially sinking, or kicked to the curb.    By the end of this episode you will know how to be clear on your needs, know your worth and value (and be able to articulate this clearly),  create the correct emotional and logical settings and support scenarios, find your courage and community for allegiance, strengthen your impact and negotiating presence, and build a case for yourself without any holes to be picked at by others.Having self advocacy is all about rising to the life challenge of self assertion  - you either will or you won’t.  But if you won’t/don’t then risk this at your peril!    However, if you’re a follower of this podcast or have picked this episode up through a search on ‘self advocacy’ then you’re in the right place and I know you’re ready to step into your power and own yourself. As always, if you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe to this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.Much love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast. E6: Bloopers, Blunders and Belonging!

E6: Bloopers, Blunders and Belonging!
This week we’re talking about owning our mess ups!  We all make them; we’re humans, therefore not invincible or perfect! So in this episode, I’m really about expelling this myth that polished/edited versions of us get the most likes/recognition/bonding/acceptance, etc, because it’s not true!   What people want is raw, authentic, vulnerable and real!     Editing and airbrushing ourselves should be banned because it just doesn’t reflect reality, so who wins?I’m going to fess up to some of my own silly bloopers which I hope will make you feel better about holding onto yours as part of your comedy moments, your bonding stories, and most importantly your chance to realise that making errors or faux pas does not equate to relegation from the human race.  In fact, silliness and idiosyncrasies makes you a very permanent and prominent team player!  Why?   Because we all have blunders, bloopers and misdemeanours so let’s own them and hold our heads up high and bond on our ridiculous moments! I’ll also give you a whistle stop tour of the psychology behind conforming to peer groups, standards, and norms and what that means from a belonging and identity perspective.  So by the end of this episode I hope you won’t flinch next time you make a clanger, but chalk it up as a noteworthy story! If you like the podcast then please don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.Much love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast. E5: Quiet Quitting? Be Better Than That!

E5: Quiet Quitting? Be Better Than That!
So we’re going to delve into a topical subject that’s had some good/bad press over the last 12 months… but I don’t like it and I know it won’t serve you.  Let me tell you why.If you’re quiet quitting on an employer, a partner, a friend or even a family member you’re immediately removing your power and giving it away.  Even if you think you’re owning yourself by taking this approach, it’s a fallacy.    You’ll not get much for your efforts in return, I can assure you.   And trust me, quiet quitting is actually a tonne of effort - it’s actually only quiet to the other party but to you it’ll be a tonne of noise, and mostly unwanted at that.In short you’re still hanging about a situation that doesn’t serve you (and likely never will), how are you getting any rewards?  If you don’t face into this and deal with it in an equitable and adult manner then you’re just doing yourself a disservice and in the meantime totally reducing your vibration.   Like attracts like, so if you’re feeling like you don’t belong and just biding your time, then that’s exactly the vibration you’ll attract back.Listen to this 30 minute case on why and how it’s better to go in other directions, even if they feel scary!   Consider at all points how your vibrational energy looks - if it’s looking and feeling off, then it’s off.   Go where you are celebrated, even if that means just celebrating yourself and living life to the max for 3-6 months to re-calibrate your vibrations again. For your sake, and for others, own your voice and stand in your power.  Say what you mean and most importantly, mean what you say!    Get out, walk away, choose liberation and freedom and just let it go.24 hours each day are yours for the taking - use them wisely or lose them foolishly!   It’s your choice but I know how I want my life to pan out!  Bring on that balance, brilliance and resilience!    Not one person can take my vital vibe from me, and I’d love for you if you operated from the same position of power!!Don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe this episode and to the subsequent ones!  Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.Much love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast. E4: Reducing Fear to Stand in Your Power
08-06-2023
E4: Reducing Fear to Stand in Your Power
So as promised in Episode #3 today is a session on how you can manage your body and mind in order to stand in your power and hold your ownHaving agency, owning yourself, and using your voice doesn’t always come easy, and in fact for some people it's downright fearful and anxiety inducing. So in this episode I will take you through some tools and techniques that you can work on to develop self mastery and remove and reduce your fears. After a quick re-introduction to what agency means we’ll start on self mastery by getting to know your patterns and what has shaped your self beliefs versus what is your driving force for change. Next I’ll talk about the power of support - you don’t have to do any of this alone, and for the most part having someone in your corner as a cheerleader and an alibi is super important.  I’ll share some coaching and therapy techniques that work really well with pattern change (CBT and exposure therapy) as well as the use of visualisation techniques and some mind mastery books that I highly recommend. We’ll also tackle the body too, because the nervous system and your physiology have sometimes more to say than you do, so mastering body and mind will help you step into a new place of existence. Finally, I’ll give you hard facts about what happens if you don’t activate your voice even when it feels hard and what that translates as to yourself and others, but don't worry - with this podcast YOU CAN DO THIS!Don't forget to connect at our other channels and download/share/subscribe this episode and to the subsequent ones! Also, if you're feeling generous and like what you hear then any ratings and feedback would be welcomed! Please contact me directly if you have any Q&As or topics to be explored in future shows.Much love!Gen xoxo Hosted on Acast.
