Episode 18: Lourenço Brothers - RTR, The Brazilian Electric Scrambler

Retrorides is a well-known name in the custom motorcycle scene. The shop has outstanding petrol motorcycle projects in the records.

But the brothers behind Retrorides, Gustavo and Fernando Lourenço, always had a dream. Build a motorcycle from the ground up.

That was the push for the spin-off branch called RTR. And the move was bold! Instead of ICE motorcycles, they decided to take the electric path. The outcome is the Scrambler 799e.

The bike attracted many eyeballs and triggered a chain reaction that led the brothers to envision bikes produced at scale to bite a chunk of Brazilian premium motorcycle share.

To catch up about how the journey has started, the main challenges to diving into such a venture in Brazil, and the roadmap to deliver the first bikes, I talked with Fernando and Gustavo Lourenço.
