Fertility and a Holistic Approach To Reproductive Health with Anne Matthews, Fertility Acupuncturist
With so much fear and misunderstanding around reproductive health these days, I sat down with Anne Matthews, Fertility Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner, to learn about her treatment plans for infertility and chronic conditions like PCOS and endometriosis.  Anne is known as the “fairy godmother of fertility” to the hundreds of patients who seek support at her clinic in Toronto. In our conversation, she walks us through the health markers she looks for when determining the root causes of reproductive health challenges. Anne also highlights the prevalence of male factor infertility and notes lifestyle changes that can dramatically improve a couple’s ability to conceive.  We also get into how Anne uses medicinal mushrooms in her practice, particularly Reishi, and the research behind other supplements she recommends like N-acetyl cysteine (NAC). Plus, Anne shares why she’s so passionate about empowering her patients to look within for answers instead of defaulting to external solutions.  Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: Why Anne doesn’t believe there’s an influx of infertility, despite what social media might suggest  The truth about the impact of stress on reproductive health  How heat and cold exposure effect sperm and egg quality  Anne’s advice for anyone nervous about getting pregnant at 35+ years old  Recommendations for patients who have unexplained infertility  Resources Mentioned: Premom App Ovulation and Pregnancy Test Strips Expecting Better By Emily Oster  Guest Info:  Follow Anne on Instagram: @energytreeanne  Learn more on Energy Tree Studios: energytreestudios.com  Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove  Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com
Why you should eat more mushrooms with Andrew Carter of Smallhold Mushroom Farm

Why you should eat more mushrooms with Andrew Carter of Smallhold Mushroom Farm
I’m joined by Andrew Carter, one of the co-founders of Smallhold, a beloved mushroom farm that is feeding people across America. Andrew’s agriculture journey started in vertical farming and eventually transitioned into growing mushrooms and a mission to feed the world with fungi. We discuss Smallhold’s evolution from a modest start up in a basement to locations around the country, the mushroom grow cycle, why mushroom farming is so important, and what he loves most about the growing mushroom community.  I appreciate Andrew for his extensive knowledge on mushrooms, despite not considering himself a mycologist. Andrew shares valuable insights about various types of mushrooms and how they can teach us a lot on both personal and environmental levels. With the help of technology, mushrooms can now thrive in new spaces.   Andrew's mission with Smallhold involves encouraging people to consume more locally-sourced mushrooms and to explore and experiment with them. It is perfectly fine to cultivate mushrooms for food without having a complete understanding of them. The fact that there is still much to discover about mushrooms is what makes them so fascinating. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered:  The mushroom revolution  How Andrew got started with Smallhold and the company’s mission  Why Andrew and his co-founder Adam started growing mushrooms out of a shipping container The role of technology in mushroom farming The collective obsession with mushrooms and their many benefits Why mushrooms vary in color and size batch by batch and how this can be challenging to keep consistent  Interesting experiences with mushrooms and misconceptions about fungi Why people should eat more mushrooms  Resources Mentioned: Derek Sarno’s mushroom steak  Telluride Mushroom Festival Guest Info:  Learn more about Smallhold: smallhold.com Follow Smallhold on Instagram Follow Andrew on Instagram Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove  Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms  Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com
Gratitude Meditation
28-09-2023
Gratitude Meditation
A 20-minute Gratitude Meditation to help you access this powerful, healing state. Studies into the science of gratitude show that reliving stories and memories of when gratitude was genuinely given to you or someone else is the most potent way to shift your neural circuitry into gratitude and a pro-social mindset. Repeated gratitude practice changes how one's brain circuits work and how the brain and heart interact. Most potent form of gratitude practice is not a form where you give it but where you receive it. Gratitude, as illuminated by the intricate relationship between our brain and body, is a profound force that can revolutionize our lives. Studies underscore the remarkable power of narratives in fostering gratitude, with the benefits spanning a broad spectrum of well-being, from joy to cardiovascular health, mental resilience, and pro-social behavior. Gratitude's neural pro-social circuits offer a pathway to connect with others and dismantle defensive behaviors, countering Freud's notion that happiness is elusive. However, not all gratitude practices are equally effective; the most potent form lies in receiving thanks rather than giving it, as it activates empathy and Theory of Mind. Crafting an optimal gratitude practice involves immersing oneself in meaningful stories of gratitude, grounding the experience in genuine intentions, and repeating it to rewire the brain-heart connection. Ultimately, gratitude serves as a transformative force that, when harnessed effectively, can shift our neural circuitry, shaping a happier and more fulfilling life. Cooking Up Creativity, Community, and Rest with Tara Thomas
It’s a beautiful time to be in conversation with the lovely Tara Thomas. Tara is a chef, community organizer, and co-founder of the nonprofit, Breaking Bread, and also provides consulting and creative direction in the world of food. In this episode, we chat about her deep hunger (literally) and passion for food ethics and how that evolved into a career focused on bringing awareness to people’s authority over their wellbeing.  Tara shares how it was important for her work life and personal life to blend, and we discuss Tara’s vision dedicated to food politics and change the world, as well as the importance of rest in contrast to buzzy creative energy. Plus, Tara shares her relationships to fungi and mushrooms and we compare notes on what kind of mushroom we’re currently foraging.  We can all bring more awareness and appreciation to our food. Tara believes that food sovereignty allows us to understand where our food comes from and serves as gudiance for bringing ethical standards throughout every process of producing food — it affects everything and everyone involved.  This is a beautiful conversation about creativity, community, and how food sovereignty can provide authority in our own life to nourish ourselves and our communities.  Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: Tara’s entrance into food and imagination as a kid How dropping out of school was Tara’s way of finding authority  Tara’s interest in studying food politics and the ethics behind food   The story of Breaking Bread’s launch during the Geroge Floyd protests Rest as resistance in comparison to the energetic creative buzz Tara’s love of foraging and what mushrooms have taught her Guest Info:  Follow Tara on Instagram @cheftarathomas Following Breaking Bread on Instagram @breakingbread.ny Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com

Body Literacy, Menstrual Health, and Natural Medicine with Chelsea Leyland
It’s a beautiful time to be in conversation with my friend and new mother, Chelsea Leyland. Chelsea is the co-founder of the menstrual health and wellness company, Looni, and is an epilepsy and endometriosis plant medicine advocate and activist. In this episode, we chat about her journey with two chronic conditions, natural forms of healing, and the necessity of body literacy throughout the healthcare system. When there’s no education alongside information, how can informed decisions be made? Chelsea shares her experience with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy and how she found cannabidiol to help ease her pain and symptoms. After a later-in-life endometriosis diagnosis, Chelsea began to navigate ways to find healing and ease her pain. Chelsea and I discuss our connection to pain, allopathic vs. naturopathic forms of healing, and how having a “healing toolbox” is powerful for supporting and honoring both our menstrual cycles and the cycles throughout life.  We can all take steps toward a more holistic, nurturing approach to our bodies, starting with grounding practices to help regulate the nervous system and bring inflammation down. Chelsea believes that education allows us to demand better policies. Because we deserve better. And we deserve awareness and change.  This is a beautiful conversation about finding personal forms of healing and sharing those findings as an advocate for a healthier, more aware world. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: How Chelsea’s endometriosis story began with epilepsy Chelsea’s life-changing experience with cannabinoids Chelsea’s activism and a documentary alongside her sister Why it took 10 years to diagnose Chelsea with endometriosis  How endometriosis responds to natural medicine and stress management Chelsea’s opinion of and connection to pain The power of an open mind around healing   Looni’s first year in the menstrual health and wellness space  Resources Mentioned: WomanCode: Perfect Your Cycle, Amplify Your Fertility, Supercharge Your Sex Drive, and Become a Power Source by Alisa Vitti Guest Info:  Follow Chelsea on Instagram @chelseleyland Chelsea’s company, Looni Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com

The Karma of Success with Liz Tran
I am delighted to be in conversation alongside my friend and inspiration, Liz Tran. Liz is an executive coach and founder of Reset, an executive coaching company to CEOs and founders, as well as a meditation teacher and Reiki master. In this episode, we talk about Liz’s journey of coming into an altruistic way of life, her struggles along the path, and how sharing her experiences with others ultimately provided her with a newfound sense of purpose.  External success is inevitable once your internal world is in alignment. Liz shares the process and inspiration around the making of her new book, The Karma of Success, which was built around intuitive work and the inner genius. Liz and I discuss the cycle of comparison, how Human Design shows up in our professional and personal lives, and Liz details the journey of hitting a rock bottom in order to learn true self-worth.  We can all find professional and personal success once our internal world, actions, and values are in alignment. Liz believes that when we look for the things we love, we are looking for the things in our “zone of genius” —  and can use those findings to tap into our inner voice to find success as our own greatest fan, cheerleader, and leader.   This is a candid conversation about redefining achievement on your own terms, and Liz’s process for trusting intuition and following it. Supporting the Human Condition through Psychedelics with Lauren Taus
I am so honored to share this conversation with a gem of a human, Lauren Taus. Lauren integrates modern science and ancient wisdom to support the personal transformation as a Psychedelic Therapist, Educator, and Speaker who hosts retreats and trainings all over the world. In this episode, we talk about the psychedelic space and plant medicines, her work with people across mental health realms as the founder of Inbodied Life, and the importance of a connection to life.     Intergenerational healing dives into the multilayered aspects of the human condition. Lauren shares her transition from social work into psychotherapy, as well as how psychoactive substances were fused into her career trajectory. Lauren and I also dig into who psychedelics are for and who they may not be for, and the lessons Lauren learned through plants and mushrooms along her journey.  We are all storytellers, and we all make up stories as well as have stories from our ancestral lines and those before us. Lauren believes we are all carrying content that isn’t actually ours. When we can start to separate from it, we can heal — and in turn, our individual healing can become the collective healing.    This is a really deep conversation about the psychedelic space and Lauren’s experience with it, as further wisdom to share with the patients and clients she serves today.  Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: Gratitude and reclaiming self-expression and joy Lauren’s approach as a therapist to support presence and identify patterns  Looking at mental health as a process that requires identification and interruption How preparation is essential for psychedelic and work, yet often missing How Lauren finds mutual comfortability to support her clients Navigating fear and perfectionism with self-love and care  Lauren’s work with entrepreneurs and business owners around hyper-performing  The importance of connection to find the richness, fullness of life Resources Mentioned: Multidisciplinary Association of Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) The Ketamine Training Center Dr. Gabor Maté Dr. Peter Levine Dr. Bessel Vander Kolk Guest Info:  Follow Lauren on Instagram: @lauren.taus Learn more on Inbodied Life Psychedelic Therapy & Integration: training.inbodiedlife.com/ Work with Lauren: https://www.inbodiedlife.com/ Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com

Being Your Own Healer and Rewriting Your Story with Lisa O'Connor
I am so happy that I get to share this conversation with Lisa O'Connor with you. Lisa is a Creative Entrepreneur, Holistic Nutritionist, Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Healing Practitioner, and Earthling. In this episode, we talk about her journey with chronic illness, and how that has informed so much of her path to create A Radiant Life. Chronic illness journeys can be constant hurdles of just wanting to be seen and heard, and these conditions and labels can become part of our identity so easily. Lisa and I dig into what happens when you heal, that label is no longer attached to you and you begin processing the grief that leads you to write a new chapter.  We all have the innate ability to expand from our current reality and create a new foundation for growth — healing to thrive, not just survive. Lisa believes it’s important to always come back to the fact that no one else is going to heal you, but you. We also cover our relationship with being in connection with nature, Energy Medicine, and all the things that excite Lisa’s body, mind, and soul, which create the basis for healing, both within and without. Weaving Sensuality, Spirituality and Storytelling with Amanda Norgaard
I’m joined by Amanda Norgaard, writer, and the Creative Director and Founder of ILLUMINATION. Amanda is one of those people that you can get juicy and real with, and this conversation is no exception. We dive right into Kundalini Yoga, relationships, storytelling, and poetry. In her work, Amanda weaves the worlds of art, culture and spirituality together in what she describes as a creative moshpit. She believes that there are certain books, art, and practices that are having “a rewind or resurface”. This means that now is the time for practical dreamers because now is the time we need new leaders and new ways of creating art.  Amanda highlights that in order to receive the gift of being conscious, be anchored to our humanity and access greater parts of our spirit, we have to be willing to do some digging. We must ask ourselves what structures and psyches we are delegating our attention to because our power lies in feeling doubt, fear, joy, pain and the challenge of them all existing. We discuss how to choose your own narrative and how to refine your mental filter. Our conversation covers the unconscious as it moves through everything, tapping into our unlimited creative potential and questioning the status quo. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: What is Applied Community and how does it look in micro and macro scales? Water: Esoteric Wisdom, Science and Hydration Biohacking with Isabel Friend

Water: Esoteric Wisdom, Science and Hydration Biohacking with Isabel Friend
In this episode, I’m joined by Isabel Friend, Water Ambassador, International Speaker, and Founder of Water Is Life, an online store and directory of water-vitalizing tools and biohacking strategies for ultimate hydration. Our conversation offers a new understanding of ourselves in the universe as we dig into the science and spirituality of our drinking and biological water. When we look at ancient vibratory, mental, and emotional practices such as yoga and breathwork, we can see that a lot of those are actually designed to help the biological water flow in very specific ways. There is an absolute correlation between our spiritual awareness, spiritual evolution, and the quality of our hydration. Water, being the mother source, exists in many forms. As we awaken to the power of water, then humanity itself awakens. Water is the most ancient and wise living being in the universe and because of that, it's easy to get lost in the complexity of it. However, this conversation serves as a reminder that water loves you, wants a relationship with you, and loves to be approached not as scientific experimentation, but with playful curiosity.  Listen in to hear Isabel’s six-step process of practical ways you can take the power of water and put it into practice in your consciousness, your awareness, and your lifeforce energy. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: The law of attraction with respect to water The negative impacts of dehydration and the benefits of hydration Water communicating over vast distances faster than the speed of light How water is involved in creation stories and ancient cultures around the world Increasing the hydrogen in your water and ensuring it is safer to drink How to add light energy and light frequency in your water Resources Mentioned: Get 10% off Isabel's e-courses with code 'RAINBO': waterislife.teachable.com The Physics of Angels: Exploring the Realm Where Science and Spirit Meet - Rupert Sheldrake Guest Info:  Follow Isabel on Instagram: @jenisabelfriend Learn more on Isabel’s website: waterislife.shop Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushroomsShop Rainbo: rainbo.com

Quantum Healing and Transforming the Constructs of Good and Evil from Duality into Unity with Sheetal Rajan
I’m joined by Sheetal Rajan, Sacred Geometry Philosopher, Corporate Keynote Speaker, Quantum Healer, Theta Practitioner, and Reiki Master. On top of all that, Sheetal is an incredibly gifted Transformation Coach and I am lucky enough to work with her. In our conversation, Sheetal shares her wisdom on the Sacred Geometry Quantum Experience and its connection to human consciousness. Sheetal’s work focuses on how to apply Sacred Geometry and Quantum Healing to your own life. In this episode, she unpacks the three basic principles with which she teaches: Watch your words, mind your thoughts, and think before you act. This conversation highlights how we all get lost in pockets of our life, so it is important to take pause and remind ourselves we’re doing this because we want to, not because we have to. Without ever experiencing darkness, nobody would appreciate the light, and we unpack this through a conversation on the difference between doing and being. Listen to hear how Sheetal’s work can be adopted by others, and how it brings abundance into their lives. At the end of the day, as Sheetal says, “You are your own guru, you are your own teacher, you are your own guide, mother, father… You. It's all you. All I can do is remind you.” Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: The three basic principles of Sacred Geometry Taking responsibility for your own thoughts, actions, and words Plugging back into your authentic energy Why inner work can often feel like a struggle that takes subconscious reprogramming to practice Making sense of jealousy and greed How changing the trajectory of your own existence will also change that of those around you Guest Info:  Learn more about Sheetal and her offerings: thesacredbeing.com Follow Sheetal on Instagram: @the.sacred.being Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove  Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms  Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com

Bootstrapping Your Business and Avoiding the "Shoulds" with Trinity Mouzon Wofford
I am joined in this episode by Trinity Mouzon Wofford, Co-Founder and CEO of Golde, a health and beauty brand with the mission of bringing accessibility to the wellness industry. In this founder conversation, Trinity and I discuss her bootstrapping journey, what it's like being the face of a company, and the struggles, milestones, and “shoulds” that come up along the way. Trinity’s evolution of allowing spontaneity in her schedule to avoid the path of burnout — and not feeling shame about it — is inspiring. To show how she got there, Trinity and I delve into three phases of entrepreneurship. The first is the finance piece, which many entrepreneurs find intimidating. At Golde, they were able to self-support and as a result, they created something that they were excited about, without investments pouring in. Focusing on finding alignment where the energy flowed, meant that even when the work was hard, they wanted to do more of it. Secondly, Trinity shares her tactics for dealing with the “messy middle.” This is when you're no longer the newest brand with the newest perspective, and you have customers, partnerships, and visibility that can create outside perspectives and disrupt your flow with judgment and opinions. Lastly, when you gain success, it can be easy to create false truths about who you are in the world, and how you operate. By doing so, you produce pain and friction. Listen in to hear how, now that Golde is established and continues to grow, they’re able to focus on creating for creation's sake and give to something they “can stand for until the day you die… or longer”. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: The nourishment that comes with ignoring the “shoulds” and creating your own path Decisions around bootstrapping our businesses Learning the value of money and how far we can stretch it Trusting your intuition in building your business How to maintain a flow state in your true zone of genius Overcoming the feeling of being overexposed as the face of your brand The journey of self-awareness in entrepreneurship Using psychedelic experiences to create play in your life Resources Mentioned: Pharaoh Sanders’ jazz album Trinity mentions The Seven Spiritual Laws Of Success - Deepak Chopra Guest Info: Trinity Mouzon Wofford Trinity Mouzon Wofford is the Co-founder and CEO at Golde, a Brooklyn-born health and beauty brand. From Sun Shunning to Sun Loving with Nadine Artemis

From Sun Shunning to Sun Loving with Nadine Artemis
I’m joined by Nadine Artemis on this episode. Nadine is the Creator and Founder of Living Libations, a company I am very passionate about, which takes the wisdom of plants and blends them into total body wellness, beauty and natural care products. This episode comes at a perfect time as we head into spring because we are talking about all things sun-loving, sun-worshiping, sun revering, and their implications for our health. Many of us tend to live predominantly indoors but the majority of living things on the planet, including our skin, have been designed to be exposed to solar rays. Of course, we don’t want to get burned, but there is an entire range of activities we really need that we miss by avoiding the sun. Nadine and I talk about the importance of sun exposure to increase bone health, fight disease, build up our immune systems, and of course, increase our levels of Vitamin D. Our bodies are like solar batteries, and we need to have that solar exposure to charge the systems of the body through safe sun rituals. This is the time of year when we can slowly expose ourselves to direct sunlight to start building up our tolerance and our melanin. There is so much fear of the sun, and women are constantly faced with unattainable pressures to not have wrinkles. However, Nadine shares some renegade advice on sunlight and health and debunks the major myths around skin, sun, and aging. Listen in to hear how engaging with the elements, graceful aging, and celebrating our bodies in a new way are the alternative to injecting fillers, applying chemicals, and eating processed foods, which all increase the likelihood of major damage once we are in the sun. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: Unpacking misconceptions about the sun and its effects on your skin’s aging Various benefits of ingesting sunlight at different times of the day Daytime melatonin and internal sun protection Active awareness to avoid unattainable beauty standards and toxic practices Knowing the amount of sun exposure you need, depending on your body Benefits of sun-tanning your bumhole Resources Mentioned: Get 10% off Living Libations products via livinglibations.com/rainbo Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide To Healthy Teeth And Gums Renegade Beauty: Reveal And Revive Your Natural Radiance Guest Info: Nadine Artemis Nadine Artemis is the Creator and Founder of Living Libations, the author of Holistic Dental Care: The Complete Guide To Healthy Teeth And Gums, and Renegade Beauty: Reveal And Revive Your Natural Radiance, which was named one of “The Top 10 Best Books on Skin Care” by The Strategist of New York Magazine. Rewriting the Aging Narrative through Epigenetics with Hannah Went

Rewriting the Aging Narrative through Epigenetics with Hannah Went
I’m joined by Hannah Went, founder of TruDiagnostics and Everything Epigenetics. She has a lifelong passion for longevity, biological breakthroughs, and disruptive technologies that drive radical improvement to the human condition. In our conversation, we touch on chronological, biological, and epigenetic age and the hallmarks of living a longer, more youthful life.  Our chronological age is determined by when we were born and how many years we are now. Our cell structure and DNA prove our biological age. Epigenetics takes these two markers and potentially places your age above the genome, where your biological age is lower than your chronological age. So, how do we turn back the hands of time and effectively age backwards? Hannah shares several studies of animals defying biological aging and even cultures tending to live longer based on their multitude of close-knit relationships. The pace of aging involves diet, stress, sleep, and fitness levels. Contrary to popular belief, lifting heavier weights and eating more carbohydrates and proteins are not the answers to living a longer life. Listen in as Hannah enlightens us on how we can rewrite the aging narrative by improving our diets, moving our bodies, and reducing exposure to toxic chemicals that can affect future generations. Start with Passion and Why with Brand Strategist Sarah Dobson
I'm joined by Sarah Dobson, a Brand Designer, Strategist, and founder of Design of Brand. Her passion for making a brand come to life began as a student doodling in her school agenda and decorating lockers for special occasions. She is a visionary for the appearance of a brand and how its visual identity can transform. In our conversation, we touch on what having a brand means, finding your ‘why,’ and the importance of your logo evolving over time.  What is the impact you want to have on the world? What are you most passionate about? Are you solving a problem for the ages? These questions separate a good ‘why’ from a great one, and it is the core of your brand. Sarah and her team at Design of Brand walk their clients  through these fundamental questions to help establish their brand identity and, in turn, give them a barometer for all core decision-making. Sarah is best at connecting the dots and articulating a brand’s vision. We also discuss the "symbology" of logos and the differences between personal and professional brands. Listen in to hear more of Sarah's visual language and explore her process for building a brand. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.  Topics Covered: Translating your passion in business into your ‘why’ The importance of articulating a vision and bringing that into the branding The difference between a personal and professional brand How to incorporate your annual goals into your ‘why’   The benefits that come with questioning a certain way of doing things Guest Info: Learn more about Sarah & her offerings: designofbrand.com Follow Sarah on Instagram: @designofbrand Resources Mentioned: Lifespan by David Sinclair Soul of Money by Lynne Twist Financial Intelligence for Entrepreneurs by Karen Berman Making of a Manager by Julie Zhuo Just So by Alan Watts Follow Me: Follow me on Instagram: @tonyapapanikolove Follow Rainbo on Instagram: @rainbomushrooms Shop Rainbo: rainbo.com

Auricular + Bioenergetic Medicine and Mushrooms Aid in Autoimmune Conditions with Dr. Kate Hunter
Dr. Kate Hunter is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor practicing in Toronto and Creemore, ON, since 2012. She is the founder and owner of The Toronto Apothecary and The Creemore Apothecary, two full spectrum wellness clinics and boutiques. Her realized vision with the two locations is a place for exceptional wellness services and complimentary wellness through the program that she created, The Community Wellness Program, which offers free and sliding scale Naturopathy to folks that are systematically excluded from systems of health. In her practice, Dr. Hunter uses Auricular & Bioenergetic Medicine to test the body to determine which systems are out of balance and then re-establishes the body’s ability to self-heal and auto-regulate. Auricular and Bioenergetic Medicine is a very unique combination of natural empathy, medical intuition, and acupuncture.  In her free time, Kate is happiest enjoying the outdoors with her husband and two kids. She is an avid runner, yoga student and skier. Dr. Hunter was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and is now in long-term remission. She credits mushrooms and auricular medicine for communicating what her body actually needs to function properly. In Crohn’s disease, the immune system attacks the gastrointestinal system. Stress is a precursor and often the root cause. The good news is the gut is very quick at healing itself in just a few days. But how do we find out what works with our specific body? Every body and its systems are different and a part of Dr. Kate Hunter’s practice is pinpointing the energy your body receives through different functions and what it doesn’t. She can look at the body as a whole through its organs and organ systems instead of treating only its symptoms. Taking it one step further, Dr. Kate Hunter encourages adding mushrooms to your diet. Join me on today’s episode as we learn how our body is much like the forest with mushrooms allowing our bodies the opportunity to heal and properly connect with all of its organ systems. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform. Permaculture, Soil Wealth and Decentralized Citizen Science with William Padilla-Brown of MycoSymbiotics
William Padilla-Brown is a mycologist and citizen scientist who is entirely self-taught. William’s lifestyle and career unfold with one question, “How do I accomplish the same thing without spending a dime and the result is sustainable and fruitful for all?” Harvesting mushrooms. As much as William began his renaissance by ingesting mushrooms, he will use the same substance to boost his permaculture career. If you have mushrooms, you have soil for further harvesting. William used to suffer from gastrointestinal issues originating from an unbalanced diet and emotional stress. He altered his diet but realized fruits, vegetables, and herbs are very expensive. It is much more affordable to grow them in your own backyard. Thus, his permaculture career began to blossom, and over time it transformed into a multi-million dollar business that continues to put back into the community in workshops, a garden network, and a community of constant education and practice. There is an affordable and sustainable way of life that is, literally, fruitful. It is good for your body, your brain, and the longevity of your life and future generations to come. It starts with learning how and there’s no better guest than William himself to get your feet wet. Listen to the episode on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or on your favorite podcast platform.
