Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo should be the happiest people alive. Or at least that's what people keep telling the hosts of the NearlyWeds podcast. As a couple who recently got engaged, they should be having the most joyful time of their lives. But that is not the case. The UK-based Made in Chelsea reality show costars actually found out that planning the wedding is what makes most people walk on air. But they're not floating because of joy. It's thanks to the anxiety.
Everything leading up to the proposal was passionate and bursting with love. Laing lit candles in a beautiful hotel room and wrote Habboo a letter, professing his love. He was so nervous that he would mess up the words that he wrote them down. Habboo knocked some candles over as she was crying and said yes immediately. The NearlyWeds podcast recaps their story.
But since then, it's been nothing but fights about the first songs and the guest list. So Laing and Habboo did the only rational thing they could think of to battle the stress. They decided to document every disagreement and intense argument on the NearlyWeds podcast. Luckily, it's not all bad. There are plenty of moments where the couple realizes how much they adore each other. There are also so many laughs along the way to balance out the misery.
NearlyWeds is a great listen for couples who feel like they're over the honeymoon stage. Laing and Habboo's playful bickering and making up may be of great comfort. It shows that partners don't have to be in love every second of every day. They don't always have to agree on everything or keep calm and collected. All they need is to ensure that they don't become too serious.
As for listeners who are not in a relationship, there's still a lot to enjoy. Especially for those who are fans of Made in Chelsea. Unlike on TV, the hosts don't have to worry about filtering their every thought. Anything goes on this podcast, and they are not scared to reveal their deepest thoughts or bedroom activities.
