Designed to Serve | God&Me - Designed to Serve
According to what Paul writes in Ephesians 4, we are designed to serve. Paul explains how we are able to experience a life-changing level of Christ-centered unity and spiritual maturity only when we accept that Christ has given us each a role. We embrace this unity, not for the purpose of numeric growth or to fill the calendar with more to do, no. We do it for the purpose of works of service designed to build up the body of Christ. The gifts, pathways, and roles are all designed to connect us to our purpose in Christ Jesus. The roles given to us by Christ, according to Paul, are: apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. These five purposes, of which we are equipped for “works of service” make an acronym: APEST. Join us as we help discover our role in the church, based on this five-fold ministry as explained by Paul in Ephesians 4.
