In this episode, we have the privilege of sitting down with Addison Henderson, an award-winning filmmaker, writer, actor and producer hailing from Buffalo, New York. Henderson's passion for storytelling stems from learning about the history of Buffalo through his father. As a local historian, Henderson's father had a deep knowledge of the city's past, including its role in the Underground Railroad, and this had an impact on his Addison's worldview and aspirations. After losing his best friend to gun violence, Addison turned to acting as a means of expression and went on to direct and produce several documentaries, short films, and music videos that explore important issues affecting inner-city communities.Henderson's creative collaborations include working with the late Chadwick Boseman on several film projects, including "Marshall" and "21 Bridges." Addison's latest feature film "Givers of Death," is a post apocalyptic sci-fi thriller that has already won an award with the American Black Film Festival.  Despite his success in Hollywood, Henderson has not forgotten his roots in Buffalo and continues to inspire and motivate young people in his hometown through his storytelling and community involvement.
