We often see “unrealistic” ideals of relationships in movies and mainstream media, where two people claim that the other person is their ‘entire world’, ‘I can’t live without you’, and ‘they make me so happy’.

However, this doesn’t necessarily reflect a healthy relationship. In healthy relationships, you are your own separate, whole person, and your partner is someone who ADDS to your life.

If your partner becomes your “everything”, this can lead to co-dependency, losing a sense of self, and feeling lost.
