Episode 16: The Global IP Matrix issue 16
THE GLOBAL IP MATRIX MAGAZINE ARTICLE TRACKLIST IS BELOW THIS TEXT.Dear ReadersThe time has come for the most significant IP event of the year for most of us. The International Trademark Association (INTA) makes its way to the Sands Convention Centre in Singapore for an event that promises to be a gathering of industry professionals like no other. We cannot wait to see you all and to share our INTA special edition of The Global IP Matrix magazine. This special conference edition showcases content from some of the industry's leading IP law and innovation practitioners. It is headlined by Keesha Fleming Lake from Complete Intellectual Property Services law firm in Anguilla. Keesha touches on the beneficial link between AI and IP on the island of Anguilla. AI stands for artificial intelligence and is also the country code for Anguilla. On the other hand, ".ai" is a top-level domain (TLD) on the internet that is specific to Anguilla. This use of .ai is unrelated to the geographical location of Anguilla; however, it has become a hub for technology and innovation in recent years. Read the full article inside and immerse yourself in this exciting content. Just across the pond from Anguilla, we welcome a newcomer to The Global IP Matrix magazine, Natalie E. Glitzenhirn-Augustin, Legal Practitioner at Glitz Law in Saint Lucia. Natalie’s article, “EU Resources Boost the Caribbean Intellectual Property Environment”, gives us an insight into the relationship the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) has with the Caribbean region and how it has been actively working to strengthen the intellectual property (IP) rights environment in the Caribbean region, particularly to support local businesses that trade their products across borders. In the Women’s IP World Bitesize segment, our segment sponsor Laura Collada from Dumont in Mexico discusses legal education from the past to the present and how women have navigated the education system, equal rights, challenges, and opportunities for advancement over the years. This is a must-read for history buffs. In our conference corner (segment), Guillaume Henry, Second Deputy Reporter General at AIPPI, shines the spotlight on what to expect at this year's World Congress taking place in Istanbul, Turkey, in October, followed by Carina Gommers, ECTA First Vice-President who also gives us a glimpse of what we should expect at the ECTA 41st Annual conference that is taking place in Prague in June. There is so much more packed into this conference special edition which we hope you enjoy exploring. Host:Michele KatzFounder & CEOAdvitam IP, LLC - Chicago, USA Guests:Carina GommersECTA First Vice-President, Partner atWiggin LLP - Belgium  Carina Gommers, the ECTA First Vice-President and Partner at Wiggin LLP, recently sat down with our host Michele Katz, Founding Partner at Advitam IP, LLC, in Chicago, USA, on the Women's IP World Podcast. During her conversation with Michele, she discussed a topic important for all law firms and associations - diversity and inclusion.  Carina highlighted the need for law firms to prioritize diversity and inclusion across all levels of their organizations. She also emphasized the importance of having diverse panels and committees in IP associations. As she discusses in her opening letter for the Women's IP World Annual 2023, achieving diversity and inclusion in the IP world starts with law firms and extends to associations. Embracing diverse perspectives and backgrounds is crucial for boosting creativity and productivity within any industry. As highlighted by Carina, encouraging a progressive mindset that values inclusivity can lead to better problem-solving, innovation and, ultimately, a healthier industry for all. By fostering an environment that celebrates differences and promotes collaboration, businesses can harness the power of diversity to drive growth and success.  Carina's practice covers trademark portfolio management and litigation regarding intellectual property rights, including trademarks and designs. Carina has extensive experience regarding counterfeit customs seizures and regularly advises on advertising and unfair market practices. Since qualifying, she has worked on a number of high-profile cases, representing clients including Solvay, Philips, Supergroup, Pfizer, Procter & Gamble and Wolters Kluwer. Click here to read Carina's Opening Letter. Click here to listen to the article in non-intrusive audio format. Women's IP World website - www.womensipworld.com Advitam IP, LLC website - www.advitamip.com ECTA – www.ecta.org  Wiggin LLP - www.wiggin.co.uk If you would like to be part of The Women's IP World Annual 2024, then please make sure to contact us today at +44 (0)203 813 0457 or email us at info@womensipworld.com #femaleleadership #trademarklaw #womenwhoworkinlaw #celebratingwomen #trademark #patentlitigation #copyrights #trademarks #intellectualpropertylaw #womenininnovation #womenonlypublication #womeninip #womeniniplaw #womenempoweringwomen #womeninleadership #genderequality #diversity #womenleaders #womensipworld #womeninleadership

Episode 4: Women's IP World Annual 2023
Dear ReadersCan you believe we are on our fourth edition of the Women's IP World annual? Yes, four years! What started as a project to shine the spotlight on women working in IP, IP Law, and innovation globally has now become so much more. We have had the pleasure of working with some super inspirational women over the last few years, some of whom have personally touched and inspired me with their candid and bare-all content that I have had the pleasure to read and edit.Yes, we are professional women that work in our various roles’ day in and day out. Still, this publication has shown that we have many of the same values and tendencies in our work and personal lives, which has made me, and I am sure many of you, feel part of a community. This has been enhanced with the launch of The Women's IP World Podcast, which we launched a couple of years ago to put a voice to the author.A very good friend to the Women’s IP World, Michele Katz from Advitam IP, LLC, based out of Chicago, USA, must be commended for the stellar job she has done as the host of our podcast that has grown immensely in popularity over the last couple of years. Michele has spoken with our contributors on a more engaging personal level which has been endearing, in some cases, in the build-up to discussing the content published in our magazine. Both platforms mentioned have proven to be very popular in the Global IP Community, so much so that we created a spin-off bitesize segment in our flagship publication, The Global IP Matrix magazine, to keep our female readers up to date with industry developments throughout the year. Many thanks to our sponsor of the segment, Ms Laura Collada from Dumont in Mexico, who has also been an avid supporter and contributor to the Women's IP World since our inception in 2019.We want to thank all the fantastic woman leaders that have contributed to the 2023 annual edition of our magazine and a special mention to you, our readers, as without your eyes and ears, there would be no publications that continue to celebrate the work and achievements of women working in IP Law and innovation. We hope you enjoy this fourth annual edition of The Women's IP World 2023 as much as we have enjoyed putting it together for your reading and listening pleasure.Elvin Hassan –Editor and Head of International Liaisons.WOMEN’S IP WORLD ARTICLE TIMESTAMPEditor’s note01 min 31 secContents page04 min 59 secECTA opening letter12 min 49 secLexOrbis Co-Sponsor opening letter22 min 50 secPatWorld Co-Sponsor opening letter28 min 22 secNorth, Central America & The Caribbean Advitam – Michel S.
