I was given the opportunity to interview new author and longtime Indian film and TV actress Vaishnavi Macdonald after a referral by my friend Sanghamitra Dasgupta. Her book is available for pre-order and will be released October 1st, 2020. This was supposed to be posted October 2020 to the podcast (not just the vidcast) but chaos happened.

In the old days they say body parts could be loaned. In this tale we learn why Dragonfly has such large eyes and why the earthworm has none. This was supposed to have been uploaded in October of 2020, but things were a little chaotic for me.

A pigeon begins to feed on his own and is kicked out of his flock. He makes some new friends and goes to a rather sad place with a flock of crows for some disturbingly strange fare. Questionable choices are made by our possibly misguided bird friend and he makes a grisly discovery. This short flash fiction of a horror is NOT for the squeamish.

I am not feeling very well lately and have several illustrations to do as well as the writing for Flash Fiction Month. With two upcoming doctor appointments requiring long distance travel this month I will be slowing down. It has been a bit since a meditation or a poetry reading. For the 17th reading from this book for the Trotsdale Library enjoyment and discussion is the old tale of Why Rabbits Live in Burrows as collected by Louise and Yuan Hsi Kuo. Narrated by Teresa Garcia I forgot to mention this when recording but as a gun is implied in this tale I think it to be a more modern version. I can't imagine bows going bang instead of twang. However it should also be remembered that the Chinese had gunpowder first. It would be interesting to try finding an older version to compare with.

A tiger, a wolf, and a fox went hunting one day. In this short tale from Chinese Folklore we see the diplomacy of the fox on display. Has there ever been a moment in your life where you've had to call on this particular trick of the fox?

Today I read "How Rabbits Got Pink Eyes and Long Ears" to be played in the Trotsdale Library for the Sunday story and also for an example of flash fiction. Today's podcast episode is up with some poetry and a short dark fiction by myself. I actually GREATLY disturbed myself writing today's feature because "oh, I'll write about a writer that's snowed in" went to "it's the end for me, it's at the window" very quickly.I am still dealing with minor ear, Eustachian tube, and throat issues, and thus also am not speaking at normal levels, as well as having to rebuild filter curves for audio processing. Due to a variety of issues this therefore does not sound as loud to me after bringing the RMS up, and I still sound a little muffled.Not intended for children.
