The Weekly Planet Podcast is a show made for movie, TV, and comic fans. It keeps listeners updated with everything happening in these industries. The podcast covers new films, movies, and comics and offers fan theories and reviews. Hosts James Clement and Nick Mason share their vast knowledge and nonsensical asides.
With many hundreds of episodes, The Weekly Planet has much to offer. It discusses classic franchises like Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Nick and James talk about the Spider-Verse, The Last Voyage of the Demeter (or Dracula on a Boat), and Deadpool 3. Episodes may move from movie news to character studies in any order. Listeners hear Nick and James debate the Flash and the Blue Beetle. They examine Wonder Woman, Kraven the Hunter, and Mission Impossible's Ethan Hunt.
When discussing Suicide Squad, James and Nick question why it's such a mess. To them, Warner Brothers and DC threw too many ideas together into one movie. They need more to be impressed. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves receives higher praise. In their review episode, the hosts chat about Disney and Marvel firing chairperson Ike Perlmutter. Other times, they discuss new favorites, The Boys, and the worst comic book movies. Are all comic book movies bad? Which are worth watching? The two answer these questions and warn podcast listeners which films to avoid.
In "Caravan of Garbage" episodes, Nick and James review their least favorite works. The 1987 film Masters of the Universe is in this category. This science fiction and fantasy film featured actors Frank Langella and Courtney Cox. They couldn't save the movie from its terrible script and directing. Fantastic Four is another film included in this segment. It's better news for the Transformers movies, even if James and Nick are ready for the end. They won't be sad to see the end of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee. Podcast listeners may feel the same.
The Weekly Planet Podcast serves entertainment fans with reviews, news, and theories. The hosts are honest about what they like and what they don't. New podcast episodes appear twice each week.
