Jon Salmon - Digital Producer and Mental Health Ambassador This episode was recorded at the Getahead Festival in August 2021. Getahead is a mental health festival that brings people, organisations, brands and charities together from within the health and wellbeing space. In collaboration, they raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health and wellbeing.  I caught up with Jon in the Green room at Getahead to talk about all things mental health, his life, his recovery and what he is doing now to support those struggling with their mental health. We talk about his work at his Agency as a Digital Producer and what characteristics you need to work at an agency like his. Jon lost his father to suicide as a teenager. After starting his first job Jon was sectioned and admitted to hospital with stress and depression. Luckily, Jon was able to get the right help and returned to work a year later. However, Jon decided not to tell anyone about his illness for nearly 20 years due to the stigma and affect it would have on his career and friendships. It was sadly after the suicide of a close friend due to postnatal depression in 2016 that Jon decided he had to speak out. Jon couldn’t have picked a more public platform to speak out when he spoke alongside the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. Remi Harris MBE – London - Business Advisor and Author   Welcome to season 2 of the Secrets of Success Podcast, this week we are looking at finance with Remi Harris. We will hear about how to finance your career and make money from your music.  Remi is a Trainer and Business Advisor to the Creative Industries specialising in finance. Mental Health Special with Joanne Croxford. My Guest this week is Joanne Croxford of Music Support. Joanne shares some of her success strategies for maintaining good mental health including eating well, good sleep hygiene, exercising daily, finding support in friends and how to find support if you are struggling with addiction. Abi Redd is a hugely creative Australian British music producer, songwriter and multi instrumentalist who started out as a drummer. This rhythmic basis created the perfect lead into music production and after completing musical studies at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, Abi decided to move to London to pursue her musical dream. In 2014 she was spotted by Hank Hughes, owner and director of Ealing Studio's F/H Block who gave her the use of a studio to work from to develop her skills. Episode 2 - This week my guest is Song Writer and Producer Ellis Miah from sunny Los Angeles. Ellis co-wrote "Inner Child" for BTS’s album Map of the Soul: 7.  The album was released on lock down it went to number 1 in over 80 Countries. The Album had 4 million pre-orders worldwide and Inner Child has had over 50 million plays on spotify to date. BTS became the first Asian group to top the album charts in the top five music markets in the world—the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, Germany, and France. We have not had this phenomenon in the Music industry since the Beatles! Ellis is a Native new Yorker and now LA based Songwriter, producer and re-mixer. Ellis joins us this week from sunny Los Angeles on a break while he is recording in the studio. Ellis has collaborated on hits for artists including Jennifer Lopez, Sia, Backstreet Boys, Christina Aguilera, Miley Cyrus, Annie Lennox, Loleatta Holloway, Yoko Ono and Sieeedah Garrett, to name a few! Secrets of Success with Music Producer Andy Wright. I am so excited to welcome my first guest, my friend who I have known for the past 20 years, the super talented Andy Wright. Andy is a global music producer and multi award winner. He has won 2 grammy’s and has received Gold, Platinum and Multi Platinum Discs for his record sales. He has worked with some iconic artists including Dave Stewart, Annie Lennox, Jeff Beck, Tom Jones, the KLF, Massive Attack, Atomic Kitten, Imogen Heap, Jon Bon Jovi, Alisha’s Attic and Pavarotti to name drop but a few. Andy has produced rock giants Simple Minds and has been working with Simply Red since 1995 where he created the unique sounds and beats featured on Fairground – their first number one single.
