Our next guest on the Territory Story podcast is Carol Phayer, a person well known to those around the Top End.
Carol was born in the Netherlands to a single mum, she went to school at a French boarding school for a time and then ended up in Australia as a teenager. After school she decided to head back to the Netherlands for university before eventually coming back to Australia where she has been ever since.
Carol has called the Territory home for over 30 years. During that time she has run several businesses, raised two children, opened an art gallery and started the first funeral home that uses biodegradable cardboard caskets.
In addition to all of that Carol has also run for the NT parliament as an independent. She has a great sense of where the Territory needs to improve but she also acknowledges where current and previous governments have got things right.
The conversation covers Carol's often troubled upbringing and how she has dealt with that throughout her life.
A fascinating conversation dealing with the highs and lows of life but overall Carol always prefers to look on the bright side of life.
This is Carol Phayer's Territory Story.
