The VERY DELTA with Delta Work podcast is all about drag queens. The host Delta Work has been a contestant and guest on RuPaul's Drag Race. She won an Emmy Award for her work on the same show. Delta also won an MTV VMA for creative direction on Taylor Swift's video "You Need to Calm Down." In 2016, she performed alongside Adele as her impersonator.
Every episode of VERY DELTA begins with Delta "going off." She delivers a monologue about a topic of her choice. For example, Delta spends ten minutes professing her love for the fast-food chain Wienerschnitzel. Her pet peeve is when restaurants don't have the entrée she wants. She gets angry at chaotic TikTok videos. The diatribes reveal Delta's persona. She is petty, cheap, sometimes crude, and hates a mess. Most of all, Delta is self-aware and can laugh at her shortcomings.
All of Delta's podcast guests are drag queens. Kelly Mantle talks about touring with her live show, "An Evening Without Kelly Mantle." Willam and Delta debate the relative benefits of black and colored eyelashes. BibleGirl explains what happened after her collaboration with Target. Trixie Mattel confesses that she wears her signature go-go boots because they're more comfortable than pumps.
Under all the makeup, Delta is like everyone else. She's flawed and a little shallow. The fact that Delta is honest about these parts of herself makes her very likable. The conversations she has with her podcast guests feel authentic for that reason. Delta is not hiding anything, so why should they?
VERY DELTA with Delta Work may appeal to fans of drag who want to learn more about queens on the up and up. It’s a lighthearted, entertaining, and informative podcast. New episodes premiere on Mondays.
