Life For Death (Daily Devotional)
Today
Life For Death (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally, our daily devotion. We hope you’ve been enjoying your time in the word daily. We’ve been meditating on the cross and what the Lord Jesus accomplished for us on the cross and it seems like a great exchange offer. We’ve been studying that this great exchange offer is available freely for us because it is a gift of grace and how do we have access to this grace? It is through faith and believing in the Lord Jesus and what He has done for us on the cross. Today, we look at one more aspect of what has been engaged for us. We see that the Lord Jesus gave us life instead of death. It is so stark; it seems like two different ends of the spectrum where He has exchanged and offering us life instead of death. You can look at death in terms of what sin does, decay if you can picture something decaying, something being corrupted, dying and being completely destroyed. Well, that is what death is and what sin ultimately does in a person’s life. So, the Lord Jesus has taken that upon Himself, whatever is causing death and whatever is death itself, He has taken it upon Himself on the cross and in its place, He is exchanging and offering life. If you can picture something thriving, flourishing, things of beauty, well, He has exchanged and is offering life for us. If you can look at Romans chapter 5, verse 12 it says, ‘Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.’ It talks about the outworking of death because of sin. But the fact is that we have been redeemed from this. John chapter 3, verses 15 and 16, ‘that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.’ This life that these verses talk about is the ‘zoay’, the God kind of life which is spiritual life, thriving and flourishing, the God kind of abundant life and that is the life that has been extended to us. What do we do? We just receive it with gratitude, we receive it by faith and thankfully and say I thank you Lord for this God kind of life, this ‘zoay’ kind of life that can touch all realms of my existence of my life here, all realms, whether it is work, studies, life, marriage, relationships, the Lord extends this to us. We receive with gratitude and also resist the work of the enemy to bring in death and we remind ourselves that we have this God kind of life in us and we look for the expression of it in all areas of our life. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that because of the cross, you took death upon yourself and you are extending to us life. May this God kind of life that you have out in us, may it touch each and every aspect of our lives and l pray let it thrive and flourish because of this God kind of life that we have access to. With grateful hearts we give you all the praise, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen. Blessings For Curses (Daily Devotional)
Yesterday
Blessings For Curses (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, so good to have you back and we are really excited about looking at God’s word together. We’ve been meditating on the cross and the great exchange, where the Lord Jesus did something on the cross, an instrument of pain, torture and death, it became a symbol of hope and that was because of the great exchange that happened on the cross. Today, we are looking at one other aspect of it which is the Lord Jesus extended blessings because of the cross instead of curses. This great exchange accomplished was a work of the Lord Jesus and accomplished by Him alone. You might have this question, how can I have access to this great exchange, walk in it, receive it and enjoy it consistently? The fact is that we can have access to it only by faith in what He has done. In humility, accepting and acknowledging what He has done on the cross and by faith receiving it into our own lives. So, blessings in place of curses. What is a blessing? A blessing is a good thing, a great and positive thing affecting all realms of our life, emotionally, physically and spiritually. It affects us in terms of career, finances, relationship with God, with people etc. At the same time, a curse is a negative blessing. We look at some negative things leading to destruction, pain and strife and so on, that is a curse. This is what scripture says in Galatians chapter 3, verses 13 and 14, ‘Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”),   that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.’ A wonderful verse which gives us so much comfort, hope and instills so much faith in us in the Lord because it says that Christ has redeemed us which means it is already done. Where was this done? It was done on the cross. It says, having become a curse for us on the cross that we might receive and enjoy the blessings of Abraham. If we want to expand our understanding about what is the scope of blessings and curses, it is good if we look at the book of Deuteronomy and chapter 28. Verses 1 to 14 talks about the blessings, materially and relationally and so on. Verses 15 onwards till the end of the chapter talks about curses, all the negative things that could happen. Well, on the cross, all these curses were taken away so that we could receive and walk in the blessing. Today, if you are struggling and saying there is something happening in my life that I’m not in control of, I seem to have opened the door for the enemy to walk in, well, today is the day to shut that door and say, I receive this blessing and what Christ is offering to me and I receive it through faith. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your heart which is to bless us. We thank you that you don’t withhold any good thing from us as your word says. We thank you that you dealt with every curse on the cross where you bore every curse and became a curse for us that we might receive and enjoy the blessing of Abraham. Today, we come under your blood covering and that place of grace and we say, yes, we receive it. Let everything that is of the enemy be broken and let it be neutralized and taken away in Jesus’ name and may we enjoy each and every blessing that you have poured out into our lives, in Jesus’ matchless name we pray, Amen. Abundance For Lack (Daily Devotional)

Abundance For Lack (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are so glad that you could make it today and be part of this daily devotion. We’ve been meditating on the cross and what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross and looking at the great exchange that has happened because of what Jesus did for us on the cross. This great exchange that He is extending to us is something good, beneficial for us and releases us from pain and into freedom and we have access to this. The Lord Jesus did this great exchange so that we might receive, experience and walk in the fullness of it. We have access to this great exchange which is by grace through faith. It has been extended to us out of grace, not because of our performance or good deeds or righteous living but by His grace freely and all we have to do is receive it gratefully through faith. One of the things that we see that has been extended to us is abundance in place of lack. When we look at John chapter 10, verse 10 it talks about the Lord’s agenda, mandate, His plan and desire. It says, ‘The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.’ The Lord’s desire for us to have life in abundance. 3 John verse 2, the apostle John prays like this, he says, ‘Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.’ 1 Timothy chapter 6, verse 17, ‘Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy.’ That is God’s heart, for us to walk in the true riches, it could involve finances. True prosperity is everything, it is increase, success and finances as well. The Lord’s heart is for us to walk in the fullness of it and this is the great exchange that was made on the cross that we might walk in abundance in place of lack/ poverty. Let’s look at this scripture, 2 Corinthians chapter 8, verse 9, ‘For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich.’ That is the beauty of the great exchange that He took upon Himself whatever was the very source of poverty because God’s desire and intent is for us to walk in fullness and not lack any good thing. He wants to take care of our needs according to His riches in glory. So, today, if you are walking in lack/ poverty/ a great need, we can look to the cross with great hope and faith and say, God, this is your desire that you want to turn these things around that I might walk in abundance, not in arrogance or pride but in true humility with Jesus and in great intimacy with the Lord. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you for this great turnaround that the cross has brought about and brings about in our lives. We pray for those walking in lack, need, poverty and debt, that the power of the cross would be made evident and apparent in each one of our lives so that in place of lack, we might walk in abundance that you are extending to us out of your grace, we receive it by faith, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Healing For Pain and Sickness (Daily Devotional)

Healing For Pain and Sickness (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We have been meditating about the cross and the reality of the great exchange that has been brought to us because of the cross. The whole humanity is hurting with physical and emotional pain but the Lord is offering something better, that is good for us, that improves our lives, transforms us, changes us and changes our destiny. One of the things that He is offering in this great exchange is healing in place of pain. The cross is the place where the Lord Jesus carried our sickness and pain. The bible talks about it in Isaiah chapter 53, verse 4, it says, ‘Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.’ The Hebrew word for ‘grief’ is sickness and the Hebrew word for ‘sorrow’ is pain, which means He carried our sickness and pain. Why did He do that? In fact, the Hebrew rendering of it is that He caried it so that He could carry it away. He carried it so that we do not gave to carry it. He carried it so that in the place of pain, sickness that we could walk in healing and health and wholeness. This healing is in all realms, spiritually, emotionally and physically. Most times we look at the spiritual aspect of it and we look at the aspect of forgiveness but the Lord is extending it and the cross declares it in all realms, emotionally and physically as well. So, what was prophesied in Isaiah chapter 53, verses 3, 4 and 5, we see the fulfillment of it in the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus. When He touched and healed people, the gospel writer Mathew testifies in Mathew chapter 8 saying, He did this so that it might be fulfilled what Isaiah wrote. In effect, he was saying, He is going about healing but He is going to do something on the cross, take our pain and sickness on the cross. In 1 Peter chapter 2, verse 24, we see the fulfillment of it where apostle Peter points to the cross and what has already happened on the cross, ‘who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.’ Today, we have this access by grace through faith to walk in healing and divine health, to exchange all the symptoms of sickness whether it is emotional oppression or something spiritually we are feeling oppressed or physical symptoms of sickness or disease. We have this opportunity and privilege to go before the Lord and in exchange for it, receive total healing and wholeness. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that you have given us this opportunity. We thank you for the cross which gives us this exchange of healing in place of pain. Today, we come before you as people who need this healing in our lives, whether it be our emotions or physical needs, we pray that you will heal us today. We declare that by your stripes we are indeed healed and we choose to walk in divine health and healing, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Acceptance For Rejection (Daily Devotional)

Acceptance For Rejection (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We hope you have been enjoying your time in the word daily and there is nothing like the presence of God and the word of God to take us into all truth and truth sets us free. We’ve been studying about the great exchange that the Lord Jesus has to offer on the cross. This is not like some exchange offer where you trade in something old and you get something and you are not satisfied with it. This is something of eternal value and has value here on earth and also for all eternity. Today, we are looking at this great exchange offer in Christ through the cross that we have been accepted. So, there is acceptance that is given to us as a free gift in place of rejection. We see that this is offered to us and we can only receive it by grace through faith. We will look at Ephesians chapter 1, verse 4, it says, ‘just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love.’ Verse 6 says, ‘to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.’ There could be reasons for rejections like lack of experience, lack of education, lack of finances, lack of qualification maybe and for all these reasons we could be rejected in various environments and by various people. When we come to God, the bible says, yes, we were all under sin, we had fallen short of the glory of God, rejected and destined for an eternity away from God but because of the cross and the grace that was and is being extended to us, we have been accepted. Today, as a believer, maybe you have fallen short of the glory of God, stumbled, slipped, back slidden and saying I am rejected but take heart because He has chosen you for a greater purpose and a greater destiny and we are accepted in the beloved today. The thing to do is to get back to Him, to the source of life, who is offering this acceptance in place of rejection. We might be battling with rejection in our minds and doing some things to feel accepted. Overextending ourselves to be accepted by people and maybe we are doing the same thing with God, saying God, I will do this, I will punish myself, beat myself up and hopefully I will be accepted by you. But the Lord is saying, no, this acceptance by Him is by grace which means we cannot earn it with our good performance or righteous living but it is by grace which means we receive it through faith and gratefully. Today, let’s pray and just receive this grace into our lives and walk with our head held high because He has accepted us. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the gift of righteousness and this great exchange that in place of rejection we have received acceptance and we have been accepted by the Most High God so the opinion of man doesn’t matter. We pray that we will put all the lies of the enemy, thoughts of rejection aside and walk with our head held high because we have been accepted by the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Righteousness For Sin (Daily Devotional)

Righteousness For Sin (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We hope you are enjoying these times together as we study the word of God and apply it daily in our lives. Today, we are looking at the cross and the greatest exchange that was made and what the Lord Jesus is extending for us in place of something that is wrong, we could be suffering from and that is the great exchange. The Lord is extending something that is good for entire humanity in place of something that we could be weighed down and suffering from. We are going to look at this gift that is being offered to us which is righteousness in place of sin. When we look at this great exchange offer that is being extended to us, we need to understand that this is offered to us purely because of grace and we have access to it by grace through faith. When we look at this gift of righteousness, 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 21 says this, ‘For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.’ Entire humanity being separated for God was under the sway of the enemy and there was no right standing with God or no right relationship with God and no righteousness as a nature in man. So, the Lord Jesus did something amazing for us on the cross and He made this great exchange possible. This becomes effective in our lives when we receive it by grace and through faith. This is what the word of God talks about unrighteousness and sin. Sin separates us from God, distances us from the source of life and everything that is good. Sin also brings us into bondage which means it brings us into imprisonment. People think they are free to go and live as they want to live, to say that I have the freedom to do anything I want but actually sin step by step takes us into imprisonment. Sin also hardens our heart to the things of God. We might enjoy the presence of God, the things of God and fellowship with God’s people as a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus but sin progressively hardens us to the things of God, where we find that the things of God, time in His word, or things of the Spirit, we don’t enjoy it anymore because our heart is hardened to it, we are not softened/ open to those things anymore. Sin also corrupts and brings decay and destruction into our lives. There is this progressive decay and corruption into our life. So, everything that is good gets corrupted and there is decay and destruction at the end. When we look at righteousness, it is the very nature of God. He is holy, pure and righteous. We see that the Lord Jesus on the cross brings this great exchange and He offers it freely for us. We have not earned it but it is freely given to us. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you for this great gift of righteousness. We thank you that you have clothed us with the righteousness of Jesus Himself and this is available freely even as we confess our sins and come right with you. We thank you for this gift of righteousness and may we walk in righteousness daily and not just for a season, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Forgiveness For Punishment (Daily Devotional)

Forgiveness For Punishment (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We’re so glad you are here today as we look into God’s word, welcome to our daily devotional. This week, we are going to look at the cross and the greatest exchange that was made. The cross historically has been a place of torture and an instrument where people were executed during the Roman times and also even before that. But the Lord Jesus through what He accomplished on the cross turned it around to be a symbol of hope. On the cross was the greatest exchange offer that was ever made for the entire humanity. So today, we will look at one of those things that was exchanged. We look at the fact that there was forgiveness that was exchanged in place of punishment. We might think what is so great about forgiveness, why should there be forgiveness? I don’t feel the need to be forgiven, maybe, you could be in that place. This is what the word of God says in Romans chapter 3, verses 23 and 24 says, ‘for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,’ The word of God says ‘all’ meaning everybody, the entire humanity and it says that all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God which means that entire humanity was heading towards the destiny that is apart from God, a place which is isolated, distanced and separated from God, a place called hell. There is only one hope for humanity which is forgiveness because of what the Lord Jesus did for us on the cross. It says here that this justification and forgiveness is extended freely through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. That is the greatest exchange offer that the Lord Jesus is extending today because of the cross, forgiveness in place of eternal punishment. Isaiah chapter 53, verses 4 and 5 says, ‘Surely, He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.’ The Lord carried our griefs which means our sicknesses, our sorrows which means our pain and our chastisement which means the punishment for us to experience the shalom or the peace of God/ peace with God, He carried upon Himself. So, forgiveness is a great thing. There are things that we could do in place of forgiveness like we could pretend that we don’t need forgiveness, we could come to terms with the guilt, shame and condemnation and pretend we don’t need forgiveness or we could do other things to do deal with it like we could maybe stuff things down and hope that doing something else will help forget the reminder of the guilt and shame, but the fact is that this is a gift of grace. We have access to this great exchange by grace through faith in Jesus. Here are some things that we can do, receive with gratitude, remind ourselves of this truth and resist any attempt of the enemy to take us away from the truth. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you for this gift of grace that we have through faith. We thank you for this great exchange that in place of punishment you give us forgiveness. We receive it gratefully and we remind ourselves of this and we resist any attempt of the enemy to take this truth away from us, in Jesus’ name, Amen. A Crown Of Splendor (Daily Devotional)

A Crown Of Splendor (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer. We wrap up this week in the study of the book of Proverbs talking about a crown of splendor. Proverbs chapter 16, verse 31, ‘Gray hair is a crown of splendor; it is attained in the way of righteousness.’ The glory of young men is their strength, grey hair is the splendor of the old. Our proverb today reflects a general belief that long life is a sign of God’s blessing. We still agree, as often as we hear someone say upon reaching old age, I’ve been blessed. As an indication of age, gray hair is not a disgrace but is a distinction, it is a crown of splendor, an achievement to be celebrated, it is a way of identifying the elderly who deserve respect. If those having the crown of splendor are the ones who lived a righteous life, we should treat them with even more respect. They are people to whom we should listen to if we are to live wisely and obediently. The Greek word translated crown is ‘Stephanos’. The source is from the name Stephen, the martyry and it means a badge of royalty, a prize in the public games or a symbol of honor. 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 4 says, ‘And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.’ Though Peter is addressing the elders, we must remember that the crown will be awarded to all those who long for His appearing. The word glory here is an interesting word referring to the very nature of God and His actions. It entails His great splendor and brightness. There are people to whom we should listen if we are to live wisely and obediently. I can’t picture Jesus with grey hair yet. He lived the most righteous life ever. He wore a crown of thorns for our sake. Let us give Him the respect and the worship that He alone deserves. Let us pray, Father, we thank you for this week and for teaching us from the book of Proverbs. We pray that everything that we have learnt will be in our hearts and spirit and we will learn to apply them in our lives. We thank you and submit each of our lives into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Rags Or Riches? (Daily Devotional)

Rags Or Riches? (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you once again for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer. Today, we will look at rags or riches. Proverbs chapter 23, verses 20 and 21, ‘Do not join those who drink too much wine or gorge themselves on meat, for drunkards and gluttons become poor, and drowsiness clothes them in rags.’ Proverbs chapter 23 offers wise advice. Be careful of chasing after riches for they are soon gone. Be wary of eating too many delicacies and drinking too much wine. Not only will they make you sick but will trap you and drag us into folly. Beware of joining in with revelers and adulterers for the pleasures of sex and partying will only deceive and ruin us in the end. Today, thousands of years later, temptations of easy money, strong drink, sex and gluttony remain powerful. The results are the same as ever. Ruined relationships, a life in shambles, addiction and poverty. The book of Ruth is an exciting rags to riches story. Ruth was from Moab, a pagan country to the east of Israel. Ruth was a Gentile, an outsider to God’s covenant blessings upon Israel. She married into a poor Hebrew family that migrated to Moab in a time of famine but her husband had died before they had children. Ruth found herself in the worst situation for a woman in that time ad culture- poor, bereaved and childless. When Naomi her widowed mother-in-law decided to return to Israel, Ruth was confronted with a major decision. Should she stay in her own country with her own people or burn her bridges behind and go with Naomi to Israel. Ruth decided whole heartedly to go to Israel. Naturally speaking, it was far more logical for Ruth to stay in Moab. Opportunities for remarriage and family security were much greater there> For a poor, Moabite Gentile widow to go to Judah with a poor and elderly widow was a rags to riches prospect. The bible reminds us that Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. It was through Christ’ death that God showed us how much He loves us and how much He believes your life is worth. God taking broken, hurting, incomplete and unfulfilled lives and transforming them by His grace. You and I are a by product of His grace. We have been redeemed and brought back by the precious blood of Jesus. We’ve been washed and cleansed and now we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. He now lays claim over each one of us. We have been traded for rags of sin and changed to the riches of heaven that comes through redemption. Let’s pray, Father, we want to thank you for teaching us today from your word. You are a God who takes the impossible, broken and you restore us. You take us from a place of sin and you’ve put us into your marvelous light and we thank you for what you have done and you are doing in each of our lives. Help us to fully trust in you. We give you all the praise and glory, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org. A Good Name (Daily Devotional)

A Good Name (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this wonderful opportunity once again to spend time in God’s word and in prayer. Today, we will talk about a good name. Proverbs chapter 22, verse 1, ‘A good name is more desirable than great riches; to be esteemed is better than silver or gold.’ The word ‘name’ here simply means reputation, a standing or a general estimation or a recognition of a person. In ancient Israel, a person’s name was intricately linked with his reputation and his standing in community. This verse emphasizes the superior value of maintaining a good, respectable reputation. In a business world, where large profit margins seem to be the only objective, a commitment to having a good name is commendable. In a world with numerous temptations to cut corners or deliver less than promised, it is vitally important that as followers of Christ, we conduct business with integrity. The temptation to see gold or silver and profits as our top priority today is as it was in Solomon’s day. Greater profits may come by way of dishonest weighs, falsifying records and more, but when we get caught, the business is ruined. We cannot isolate ourselves form those around us. Our good name can be a special valued asset more than the riches of the world. It is not suggesting that it is wrong to have a lot of money or possessions. Wealth is not the culprit but how we obtain it matters. If we acquire riches at the expense of destroying our reputation, then we have paid too high a price. Riches are worthless if in pursuing them we ruin our character. Having a good name or an honorable reputation is the result of developing inner character and living uprightly. Ruth’s story proves that living with integrity builds a respectable reputation. When the Lord’s loving kindness and faithfulness surround our hearts like a beautiful garland, we earn the favor of God and of others. His favor provides us with a good name. A good name such as this is more desirable than all the one in the world. A good reputation comes from obeying God’s word, living to please God and always striving to clear our conscience before God and people. Too often, our testimonies are negated by the way we do our business. Too often, we put the Christian symbol on our business and yet deal dishonestly. Our good intentions and promises must be followed by actions of integrity. Christ’ name is at stake. Jesus calls us to honesty. After honoring Him, we can sing ‘Lord, I lift your name on high’ and really mean that. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for your word and for teaching us today that a good name is greater than gold, silver and all the riches we can earn. Help us to grow in Christlike character. Teach us to walk with this godly character in our life. We commit each one of us into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. A Healing Tongue (Daily Devotional)
29-10-2024
A Healing Tongue (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this beautiful opportunity to spend time in God’s word and in prayer. Today, we will talk about a healing tongue. Proverbs chapter 12, verses 18 and 19, ‘The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing. Truthful lips endure forever.’ People spend a great deal of time, energy and money in search of a way to promote health and wellness. One technique that they may overlook is found in the bible. Not only can the tongue promote health and healing but Proverbs chapter 18, verse 21 says the tongue has the power of life and death. In these proverbs and many other scripture passages, the word tongue refers to our spoken words. Reckless words can pierce like swords leaving lifelong scars. Words do hurt and words do heal. Right words are like good medicine that can make a person well. Some people use their sword like words to wound, give offence, promote corruption and injure reputation, those are words of the reckless. In contrast to the tongue of the wise, whose wholesome words bringing common sense, discernment, comfort, soundness, love, joy, peace and benefit to others. Even when bringing reproof, the tongue of the wise is healing. We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. A small rudder makes a ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go even though the wounds are strong. Wholesome, godly words flowing from our mouths have the power to stimulate mental, physical and spiritual processes in our lives that can restore someone to good health and sound state. The tongue of the wise promotes health when God’s people speak life giving, edifying, compassionate, beneficial and appropriate words. As believers, we must learn to control our tongues, we must desire helpful, honest and healing communication. Saying what is factual or apparent may not be an excuse to hurt someone. Our words must seek to encourage even when admonition is needed. Helpful words begin with listening to those in relationships with us. Good counsel includes knowing the person we are talking to. Honest and healing words come from those who have learnt to look at others through the eyes of Jesus. Jesus’ words were wise and ours must be too. Words make a difference in our lives. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for today’s word and for teaching us that life and death are in the power of our tongue. We pray that as your children, we will speak words of life to build, equip and edify each other. We submit ourselves into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. An Usual Meal (Daily Devotional)

An Usual Meal (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much once again for giving us this opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer. This week, we’ve been looking at the book of Proverbs and gaining insights from various aspects of this book. Today, we will cover Proverbs chapter 15, verse 17, ‘Better a small serving of vegetables with love than a fattened calf with hatred.’ What an unusual meal! Some lines in the book of Proverbs may not seem to apply to us today as we might struggle to connect them with the call to follow Jesus and live wisely. In such cases, we must read them as reflections of life sending us to search for wisdom as Christ’ disciples. Today’s proverb about a meal is one which we can respond with a hearty Amen. Having a meal together remains a time honored, expression of hospitality and friendship. The luxury of a fattened calf ordinarily was reserved for special occasions. Mealtimes can be wonderful times of building bonds of love. They are vital to a healthy family life. Hatred shouldn’t be on that menu. The presence of love makes up for a lot. We can live on a humble diet but can never flourish without love. King Solomon taught wisdom by comparisons, by showing one thing better than another. He taught us wise priorities. In this case, we should value love more than dinner and material things. Emphasizing love and peace is more important than picking the right restaurant and spending extra money. Even the poor can be happy. If a poor man wrote the proverb who often settled for vegetables, the lesson might be despised. However, it was written by the richest king of his era who could choose any culinary possibility every time he sat for a meal. Solomon enjoyed meals daily that a poor man could never even imagine. Yet, he exalted love and peace above them. Have you ever had a meal with bitterness, hatred, contention and resentment there? You may not have even remembered what the meal was because being in that atmosphere would have caused so much pain. Have you ever had a wonderful meal with just a few simple things because you loved the person you are with and they loved you. You may not remember what you ate but the sweet pleasure of company still brings joy to our life. Solomon thought here in his last few words that a good life is not dependent on what you have but rather the love you share. Godliness with contentment is great gain. During the last supper, Jesus said to His disciples, I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. God welcomes us to this great feast for His kingdom and we do this in remembrance of Him. The result will be a balm to each soul, present and joyful pleasure to every heart. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for this word and that you have given us the responsibility to choose and we pray that we will make right choices in our life. From what we have learnt today, help us to value your word, walking in obedience to you than the pleasures of this world. We thank you that the joy of the Lord is our strength. We commit each one of us into your hands, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org. Guarding Your Heart (Daily Devotional)

Guarding Your Heart (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome once again to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us this beautiful opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer as well. Today, we will talk about guarding your heart. Proverbs chapter 4, verse 5 and 23, ‘Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or turn away from them. Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.’ These words of wisdom from king Solomon emphasize the importance of protecting our innermost being. Our heart is the source of our thoughts, attitudes, beliefs and actions. Therefore, it is crucial to guard our hearts above all else. These words of wisdom from king Solomon emphasize that when we guard our hearts, we take responsibility for our mental, psychological and spiritual wellbeing. In doing so, we protect ourselves from sinful influences that impede spiritual progress. By guarding our hearts, we become who God designed us to be, protecting our innermost being. Our hearts are the source of our thoughts, attitudes and beliefs. The heart is a powerful force that drives our action and influences our thinking and behavior. It can either lead us down a path of righteousness or a path of destruction. Our hearts are susceptible to sinful thoughts, attitudes and beliefs. Hence, we must be mindful of what we allow in our hearts. Everything we do flows from it. Guarding our hearts is about protecting ourselves from external and internal factors. We must be mindful of the things we think about, set our affections on and things we give attention to. Negativity, bitterness and anger can take root in our hearts and lead to sinful behavior. Guarding our heart means choosing to focus on godly thoughts as well as seeking wisdom and guidance from God. Today’s proverbs aren’t talking about the heart that pumps blood through our bodies. The heart we must guard is our commitment to love and serve the Lord no matter what. Widom is not a computer chip installed in one’s conscience. It all begins with your heart and its alignment with God. It comes by way of obedience to God’s word even when it may not make sense to our friends who are not committed to honoring God. It comes by asking God for wisdom in whatever you and I may do. Our hearts set the direction for our living. Jesus promises the joy of God if we are pure in heart. A pure heart knows that whatever we do, it is in full view of God. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for today’s scripture. We thank you for teaching us to keep our hearts pure. Enable us to set our minds, thoughts, attitudes and affections on you. We pray that you will enable us and empower us to walk in holiness, we ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen. Wisdom, Life’s Essential Element (Daily Devotional)

Wisdom, Life’s Essential Element (Daily Devotional)
Greetings and welcome to Living Supernaturally. Thank you so much for giving us the opportunity to spend time in God’s word and a few moments in prayer as well. This week, we will be looking at the book of Proverbs and gaining insights from this marvelous book. Today, we will talk about wisdom, life’s essential element. Proverbs chapter 3, verse 19, ‘By wisdom the Lord laid the earth’s foundations, by understanding he set the heavens in place.’ Setting a foundation for anything can be difficult and sometimes is a complicated task. Whether it is constructing a house, engineering a bridge, laying down a pavement for a new road or installing a wall, a foundation is essential for whatever is being made. Proverbs tells us that the Lord God our creator founded the heavens and the earth by wisdom and understanding. What exactly is the writer saying here? The New Testament gives us some clarity on this. Now that Jesus has come, the mysteries of God have been revealed and as apostle Paul puts it in Colossians chapter 1, verse 16, ‘in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth… all things have been created through him and for him.’ The apostle John also notes that in the beginning was the word and that through Him, all things were made. What’s more is the word became flesh and made His dwelling among us and He is the Son who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. Wisdom is characterized as someone who reposes or comes to rest in the hearts of people who are discerning. We all desire that wisdom should come and rest in our hearts, that truth, grace and goodness would take up residence inside of us, within us and bring us peace. The beautiful reality of faith in Jesus is that this has actually happened. Wisdom has come to live and reign in our hearts through God’s Holy Spirit. The Holy Spit lives within us and the Spirit reveals all truth and wisdom to us because His primary task is to help us live like Jesus. What a privilege! Living in a world with information at our fingertips, we must learn that knowledge is something that we need but wisdom applied with compassion in Christ is far more valuable. It includes an awareness of God’s laws and concern for a life called, obedience and discipline, even when doing things that maybe difficult. Jesus showed us the way by submitting to His Father’s will. He is our example. Let us pray, Father, we want to thank you for your word and that you have granted us wisdom. Your word says, if any of you lack wisdom, ask God and He will give you. We pray that you will fill us with wisdom that we may learn how to discern your word for the decisions that we may have to make in life. We commit ourselves into your hands, we ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen. Thank you for tuning in to Living Supernaturally, for more resources to strengthen your spiritual walk, please visit apcwo.org. Act In Faith (Daily Devotional)
25-10-2024
Act In Faith (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally. We are looking into God’s word which is sharper than any two-edged sword, it is alive and it so exciting to be studying God’s word and applying it daily in our lives. We have been studying about how we can receive by faith the things that have been already freely provided for us. The price has bene paid and it has been made available for us, then what is the problem? The thing is we need to have faith in order to receive this into our lives and that is the way the Lord has designed it. These are provisions of grace which means that we don’t have to earn it or work towards us but these are things that have already been provided for us in Christ Jesus. We look at the life of Abraham, the kind of faith that he had and it is just an example for us. He is literally an instruction manual of faith for us to consider and walk in. If we look at the faith of Abraham, we are looking into Hebrews chapter 11, which talks about the kind of faith that he had. It says Abraham acted in line with what he believed. We are going to look at several verses here. Verse 8 says, ‘By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to the place which he would receive as an inheritance. And he went out.’ He obeyed and went out. He received the promise and instruction and he obeyed. We see him acting out in faith. Verse 9 says, ‘By faith he dwelt in the land of promise as in a foreign country.’ Here also, we see something that he acted in line with his faith. Verse 10, ‘for he waited for the city which has foundations, whose builder and maker is God.’ Again, an act of faith. Verse 11 says, ‘By faith Sarah herself also received strength.’ Again, an act of faith both for him and Sarah his wife because it says she judged Him faithful who had promised. In verse 17 it says, ‘By faith Abraham, when he was tested, offered up Isaac.’ Here is another season in Abraham’ life. He has received the promised son, Isaac and by faith, he offered up Isaac. Again, he believed that God would do what He had promised He would do. He offered up his promise for whom he had waited or 25 years, he offered up Isaac knowing in faith that God would do something, he trusted God. We see that Abraham acted on his faith. So, faith was not something that was theoretical for Abraham or dormant in his heart or something that he believed in but something that was acted out and practical. So also, for us in our lives, has God promised something or instructed something to do by faith? Here is an opportunity and a reminder for us to step out and do just as Abraham did. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for the faith of Abraham. We thank you for the instruction and the example that we have to consider and to walk in. Even as we believe in you, your word and your promises, we pray and ask that we would step out and act in line with our belief. Today, enable us to have the courage to act in line with what we believe and what you have promised and in doing so, may we extend our faith and see the fulfillment of what you have promised, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Stay Fully Convinced (Daily Devotional)
Hello, welcome back, we hope you’re having a good day. Welcome to Living Supernaturally, the daily devotion of All People’s church. Today, we are going to look at God’s word, there is something the we can learn, apply in our lives and enjoy the fruit of it. We’ve been studying about receiving God’s promises and today, we are looking at one aspect of it, how can I go about receiving what God has freely provided for me and the Lord Jesus having already paid the price for it, how can I receive it? Obviously, it is through faith and we learn something about faith, the kind of faith that Abraham had and whose faith we have been exhorted to follow. We are looking at Romans chapter 4 verse 21, this is how it reads, ‘and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform.’ Being fully convinced is one aspect of faith, that we are fully, absolutely convinced and sure, we come to a place of absolutely sure whom we have trusted. So, we see here that being absolutely sure is to be without doubt regardless of how many questions we might have, the questions like, how will this thing come to pass, when will it come to pass, how do I see it, it goes against reason, logic, public opinion and all the things people are saying about it. We come to that place of saying I’m absolutely convinced and sure because God said it. So, we say that we need to be single minded about it, fully convinced and persuaded. James chapter 1, verse 6 talks about that ‘But let him ask in faith, with no doubting.’ Secondly, we stand firm even with the passage of time, not just today but the day after and the day after and maybe it could be even days or months or even years, the way Abraham stood firm. Hebrews chapter 6 and verse 11 says, ‘And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end.’ We don’t know what until the end means but to show the same diligence and full assurance of hope. Thirdly, to fight the good fight of faith. As we see in 1 Timothy chapter 6, verse 12, ‘Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.’ In order to walk in faith, it is a fight, that means it is a challenge, there are things coming against us to walk in faith. All this would mean that we walk in the faith of Abraham. This enables us to be fully convinced that God will perform what He has promised. Shall we pray? Father, we thank you that you’ve exhorted us to be fully convinced and persuaded in our minds about who you are, what you have spoken and promised that you will do. Today, we bring all these things that you’ve spoken over our lives, families, finances, work, ministry, studies to our minds and we come to that place of being fully persuaded and convinced that you who have promised will bring it to completion. We thank you for we have access to it through faith and what you’ve already provided for us in Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Praise God and Be Strong (Daily Devotional)

Praise God and Be Strong (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome to Living Supernaturally, which is the daily devotional of All People’s church and we hope you are being blessed by it as much as we are in bringing this to you today. Today, we are going to meditate on receiving by faith what God has already promised, receiving the promise what has been provided freely for us. In doing so, we are called to have faith and to receive these things by faith. We need to understand one thing that it has been provided for through the finished work of the Lord Jesus on the cross, these provisions of grace are being made available for us. For us to believe and receive, each one of us we have this responsibility to believe in God and to receive it. In what way do we believe? We can learn some lessons on faith from the kind of faith that Abraham had. When we look at Romans chapter 4, and the second part of verse 20 it says, ‘but Abraham was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God.’ The question is, is my faith wavering? Does my faith seem weak today? Have I waited for so long and at the end of it I seem to lose strength and is my faith weak today? We can strengthen ourselves in the Lord the way Abraham did. It says here that Abraham was strengthened in faith even as he gave glory to God. In other words, as we praise Him, give Him honor and glorify Him, our faith is built up. Even as our faith is built up, we are able to extend our faith and not lose sight of the promise but receive it and see the promise of God unfold in our lives. So, it says here that he gave praise to God. We see that even as we thank God and praise Him for who He is, the promise giver and promise keeper, not when we see the promise being made tangible but when we praise Him in advance, even when we don’t see it happen, we don’t see the answers, still when we praise and thank Him in advance, that is the faith of Abraham. He gave glory to God and was strengthened in faith. Well, Jehoshaphat did something like this, he put the army and the team that was praising God, he put those people ahead of the army and as they marched out to battle, there was this team that was declaring God’s praise and playing on the musical instruments, it says that God set up ambush and the enemies were defeated. We see another picture of Paul and Silas in the prison at Philippi but at midnight, they started praising God, they sang praise and hymns to God and it says that there was a breakthrough. Something happened in the natural, there was an earthquake and the prison doors were opened and that can happen in the spiritual as well, that there will be a shaking and the prisons will be opened, there will be a shift in the realm that we are in. As we pray today, let’s pray that our faith will be like that, that we will be strengthened giving praise to God. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you for who you are, that you are the creator God, the one who is the beginning and the end and the one who rewards those who diligently seek you. Even today, we seek you and we believe in who you are and we thank you for who you are and for the promise. Even before we see it being manifest, we thank you in faith and may our faith in you be strengthened and made stronger and may we receive what you have already freely provided in Christ Jesus, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Refuse To Waver (Daily Devotional)

Refuse To Waver (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally, it is so good to have you here. Living supernaturally is the daily devotional of All People’s church, where we look into God’s word to study it and apply it into our lives. Today, we want to meditate on one aspect of the truth of God’s word which is to have faith to receive the promise and what has been given to us freely. Every provision that has been made available to us through grace is made available freely. The question is how do I receive it and walk in the fullness of it? Because God’s will and desire is that we are not ignorant of it but we receive, walk in it and we enjoy it. So, we receive it by faith and we have been given the template of faith or we have been instructed to follow in the faith of Abraham, the kind of faith that he had when he believed God. So, we see in Romans chapter 4, verse 20, we see the kind of faith Abraham had. We see that he didn’t waver at the promise of God through unbelief. Even as we are in the journey of believing God, on this faith journey, we journey with God, it is about our relationship with Him and even as we journey through life and we want to receive and walk in what He has promised. The promise comes to us in many ways through the quickened word of God, maybe through a word of knowledge or a prophetic word and we receive this promise. But we want to see the fullness/ manifestation of it. It says here that Abraham didn’t waver at the promise of God through unbelief. So, to waver means to doubt, to think one thing one moment and to consider the opposite of it the other time, it means to contend or to dispute and to be doubtful with oneself, to be divided in opinion. Now, Abraham didn’t do that. It says here Abraham didn’t waver which means he was steadfast, he was sure, he didn’t vacillate in his opinion, he was so sure. James chapter 1, verses 6 and 7 have this to say about asking in faith, it says, ‘But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord.’ We have this great promise and price that was paid on the cross and we have this new life that is before us, with all these provisions, provision for life and godliness provided through Christ Jesus. So, it says here if we ask in faith, in other words, if we don’t ask in faith, if we are going to change our opinion, will God answer or not, every now and then? Then it says here, these are hard words but true, let not that man suppose he will receive anything from God. In other words, we shouldn’t waver at the promise of God in our own mind or through sources around us. Also, quench every fiery dart of the enemy through the shield of faith and hold on to the confession of faith in God. Let’s pray, Father, we thank you that you’ve given us precious promises in your word. We have this model and example whose faith we are called to follow. We thank you that you’ve called us to not waver at your promises, you’ve called us to be strong in faith and we choose to do that today that whatever you have promised and spoken over us about our life’s purpose, destiny and the needs that we might have, we receive it in faith and we choose to be steadfast and unwavering, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen. Your Circumstances and Faith (Daily Devotional)

Your Circumstances and Faith (Daily Devotional)
Hello and welcome back to Living Supernaturally, so good to meet you here and look into the word of God together. We have been meditating on how we can appropriate what has been freely given to us and the key to that is faith. We’ve been looking at the way Abraham believed in God and there is so much that we can learn and apply in our own lives. We are looking today at Romans chapter 4, verse 19, and this is what it talks about the manner in which he believed. He believed and didn’t look at the circumstances. He believed despite the circumstances. He didn’t allow the circumstances to influence his faith rather his faith influenced the circumstances. Romans chapter 4, verse 19, ‘And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.’ So, that was the circumstance, he was already old, he didn’t consider his own body nor the fact that Sarah, his wife was barren. He didn’t consider the circumstances. Well, the thing is this, he didn’t allow the fact of the natural circumstance to restrain him from exercising faith. Well, the facts are there plain to see. What are the facts? The fact was this is the circumstance. So, in your own life, there could be facts speaking very loud and clear. To believe in God doesn’t mean we ignore the facts. We consider the facts and say, yes, I know what these facts are, this is what it is, this is my situation and circumstance but we go beyond the fact to look and to lean on what the Lord says. So, that is what he did, he didn’t consider the fact that his body was dead and the deadness of Sarah’s womb. We also see that when we don’t consider the situation or the circumstance, we also give attention to something else intently and that is the word of God. Proverbs chapter 4, verse 20 onwards says, ‘My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.’ What does it mean to incline? To lean away from something else, the facts of the circumstance. We acknowledge it but we lean towards the words of God. It says to incline your ear to my saying. Verse 22 says, ‘For they are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh.’ This is what we can do, lean away from the voice of fear, doubt, unbelief and to fill our ears, eyes and heart with the words of God, the sayings of God and the truth of God’s word. So, we meditate on God’s word, we confess the word of God and we fill our heart with the word of God. We lean not in our own understanding; we lean towards God. Thirdly, we can confess and speak faith, confess the word which is put in our heart, declare that over the circumstance. In this manner when we believe, we believe the way in which Abraham believed and so we appropriate or receive what has been freely given to us in Christ Jesus. Shall we pray, Father, today we look at the circumstance and the facts but we go beyond it. Even in our own lives, whatever be the circumstances stating loud and clear, the impossibility of certain things happening/ manifesting in our lives, we look at the facts but yet we incline towards you Lord and your sayings. We inline our hearts and ears to receive from you, to hear what you have to say and we give that priority in our lives. When we choose to do this, we know that we will receive what has already been given to us freely in Christ Jesus by grace through faith, Amen. Even When It Seems Hopeless, Believe (Daily Devotional)

Even When It Seems Hopeless, Believe (Daily Devotional)
Welcome back to Living Supernaturally. It is good to see you here, we’ve been meditating on the word of God and we’ve been looking at how do we receive what has already been provided by grace. How do we receive and walk in the grace provisions that has been given to us because it has been provided for us and given by grace with this intent that each one of us, having believed in the Lord Jesus, having received the fullness of His grace will walk in what has been given to us, meaning that we will receive, experience and appropriate and walk in the fullness of it. The question is this, how do I receive it? We receive it by faith. We are looking at different aspects of it and the faith of Abraham, how Abraham believed and therefore he is the father of faith and we have been instructed to follow in the footsteps of the kind of faith that he had. When we look at Abraham’ life, we see that against all hope, in hope, he believed which means that even when things were hopeless, in hope, he believed. Let’s look at Romans chapter 4, verse 18 says, ‘who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, “So shall your descendants be.”’ We see contrary to hope, in hope, he believed. For Abraham, there was no reason, no logical reason to hope, but still he hoped. He hoped in God and in hope, he believed. So, hope is an expectation of something good. He believed and he had this hope that God will bring to pass what He had promised. So, that is the same kind of hope that we are called to have, to have hope and expectation when all things are hopeless, when there is no reason and logic to hope. How can we have this kind of hope? We can have this kind of hope only through the word of God in our hearts because the word of God inspires and instills hope in us. We can have this kind of hope and let this expectation rise in us because of what God has spoken and who God is. Only then can we have this kind of hope in our hearts. Secondly, we also see in addition to having hope that we should only believe and not fear. In fact, when the Lord Jesus was speaking to Jairus, Jairus had come to ask the Lord Jesus to pray for his daughter who was at the point of death and he receives this news that the daughter is already dead and the Lord Jesus turns around and says, ‘fear not, only believe.’ When we have hope against hopeless situations and when we are believing in such situations, there is every possibility that fear might enter. When fear knocks at our door, we need to remind ourselves of what Jesus spoke, He said, ‘fear not only believe’, believe in His word and in who God is. When we believe in this manner, the Lord Jesus says, when you believe, you will see the glory of God. So, we believe first and then we see the manifestation of what we have believed and hoped in God for. Shall we pray, Father, we thank you that you have asked us to believe the way Abraham believed. Even when things seem hopeless, some of us may be going through such situations when there is no reason/ logic to have hope, where the situation is completely hopeless, in such situations, we put our faith in you, in who you are because you never change. We put our faith in your word because your word never changes and remains the same through the ages. We choose to believe in you in this manner, to receive what you have already provided or us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
