Open Goal - Football Show is a sports podcast offering an entertaining view of UK football. Hosting the show are Simon Ferry, Paul Slane, and Kevin Kyle. Together they have humorous, insightful conversations about soccer (called football in the UK). Along the way, they also exchange hilarious banter and personal stories.
All three of the hosts are former footballers themselves. Simon or "Si" is a former player and coach. He has played at the international level as well as in several Scottish and English clubs. Si also serves as the assistant manager for East Kilbride. As the creator of Open Goal, he hosts the "Si Ferry Meets…" segment on the podcast. Open Goal is a multimedia sports entertainment brand.
Paul has been a part of Open Goal - Football Show and its YouTube Channel since 2019. He had an impressive seven-year run playing for multiple clubs. As a media figure, Paul has developed a following with his rebellious personality. He first joined the podcast as a part of the "Keeping the Ball on the Ground" segment.
Kevin rounds out the trio of hosts with eleven senior club runs to his name. He also scored a goal against Hong Kong during his international career. After a few interviews with Si on the show, Kevin became a regular cohost. Beyond soccer, he is an accomplished competitive darts player. He made the top 256 in a Scottish tournament in 2016, beating out one of the top picks, Richard Veenstra.
This podcast is both an informative analysis of the latest football news and a riotous listen. Each host brings their signature Scottish humor to every episode, cracking jokes at each other’s expense. They also invite a variety of guests onto the show for fascinating interviews. The podcast has welcomed players like Michael Tidser and managers like Stuart Kettlewell. New episodes of Open Goal - Football Show are available several times a week.
