This scenario was pulled from the headlines. A middle schooler with special needs was turned down when he asked a classmate to be his Valentine in a public performance. The resulting social media backlash both for and against the young woman gives us plenty to unpack about culture, ethics, etiquette, social media, and special needs folks in our communities.
