Meet Dr. Mubarak, an orthodontist based in Al Jahrah, Kuwait, who took the road less travelled. Al Jahrah was not the place where dental careers were built in Kuwait. It was located in the northernmost area of the country with a high older population. If you wanted to grow, this was not where you practised. But this is where his story was to be built. He would go on to not only pave the way for access to quality dental care but be one of the pioneers of remote dentistry in the region, with almost half of his patients outside his modest city. For Dr Suliman, details matter. A self-confessed perfectionist, he is always exploring the degree of precision that can be brought to the practice of dental care; From the rigors of his personal practice to his contributions to academic research where he’s conducted dental work on the smallest set of teeth possible - the rat. But despite his passion, he advocates for the importance of patient management as core to a successful practice. According to him, you could be the most skilled practitioner but if the patient's experience is not up to mark, it can be perceived as a failure.
