The Truth About Dog Socialization with Ryann from Lucky Seven K9 | S7E01
Welcome to a brand-new season of the Canine Culture Podcast! In this exciting premiere, Brittany sits down with Ryann Cantrell, founder and head trainer at Lucky Seven K9, to tackle one of the most misunderstood aspects of dog ownership: socialization. From defining what socialization really means to exploring its importance for dogs of all ages, Ryann offers expert insights to help pet parents create calm, confident, and well-adjusted dogs. Discover why dog parks might not be the answer, how to read your dog’s behavior in unfamiliar situations, and the transformative power of structured training. Whether you're a new dog owner or a seasoned pup parent, this episode is packed with practical tips and fresh perspectives that will change how you approach your dog's world. Listen now to take the first step towards building a stronger bond with your furry companion! About Lucky Seven K9: A dog trainer and French Ringsport competitor, Ryann began her education at Florida State University. She graduated with a BA in Communications while uniquely focusing on Business and Biology. Ryann attributes her ability to teach the individual to her early professional years in Apple Leadership. While weekdays were for corporate America, her weekends were devoted to rescue. Working with everything from neonatal kittens to wild mustangs, her greatest passion point was dogs. Selecting the most challenging cases to foster and rehabilitate created a need to understand canine behavior and obedience. She sought the kindest, most accomplished individuals in the field and studied religiously. After working in the area’s most successful kennels, it was time to move to an independent format. She prides herself on continued education through practice, mentorships, and seminars. Combining a love for teaching people and training dogs – Ryann works hard to share her skill set to better the communication and relationship between dog and handler.  ------------------------------------------------- Follow Lucky Seven K9: Lucky Seven K9 Website ------------------------------------------------- Give the episode a listen on your favorite podcast platform and let us know what you think! S6E22 - Throwback Thursday - Paw Sha with Dr. Tori Countner
This week, we're bringing back an unforgettable episode that dives deep into the transformative world of Paw Sha, an ancient-meets-modern wellness practice for dogs! Join us as Dr. Tori, a holistic pet wellness expert, guides us through the fascinating art of Paw Sha. Based on the Traditional Chinese Medicine technique of Gua Sha, Paw Sha has been adapted to provide safe, gentle healing for our furry friends. Whether your dog suffers from chronic pain, arthritis, or just needs a little extra relaxation, this modality could be the wellness boost they deserve! Learn how Paw Sha can be done at home, and hear Dr. Tori’s insights on how it’s changed the lives of her animal patients and her own pets. Perfect for any dog lover interested in exploring alternative health approaches for their pups! About Paw Sha Paw Sha is a modality you can use at home on your own dog to optimize their health! Paw Sha is based on Gua Sha massage, a Traditional Chinese Medicine technique that relieves pain, decreases inflammation, and helps with lymphatic flow. A Gua Sha tool is used as an extension of your hand to glide over your pet’s skin and fur to promote healing. Gua means “to scrape” and Sha means “disease or sand”, and when used on humans it is a firm scraping motion. In our animal patients, a softer touch is used to create the effect we want. Paw Sha is used in treating animals with chronic pain, arthritis, mobility issues, post-surgery recovery, improverelaxation, and many other ailments. Dr. Tori has used this technique on her own dogs, patients, and taught clients how to perform this technique at home with great success! ------------------------------------------------- Follow Paw Sha: Paw Sha Website Follow On Instagram ------------------------------------------------- Give the episode a listen on your favorite podcast platform and let us know what you think! S6E11 - Throwback Thursday - Navigating Goodbyes: Euthanasia and End of Life Care with Dr. Katie Stender
In this special Throwback Thursday episode, Brittany revisits an insightful and deeply touching conversation with Dr. Katie Stender, a compassionate veterinarian from Northeastern Florida. Dr. Katie is a pioneer in hospice and end-of-life care for our beloved pets, bringing a wealth of knowledge and empathy to the discussion. Join us as we explore the often challenging but crucial topic of euthanasia and end-of-life care for our canine companions. Dr. Katie, a graduate of the University of Florida with experience in traditional veterinary clinics, found her true calling in providing in-home end-of-life care. Her work has profoundly impacted countless families during their most difficult moments. In this episode, Brittany and Dr. Katie navigate the emotional journey of saying goodbye to our cherished pets, highlighting the deep human-animal bond and the importance of a peaceful transition. This conversation is both informative and deeply moving, offering valuable insights into a subject that touches the hearts of all pet owners. About Dr. Katie The Hospice Vet: Dr. Katie Stender is a graduate of the University of Florida, for both her undergraduate studies, and her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she worked in general practice, as well as providing in-home euthanasia. It quickly became clear what her calling was, and she started exclusively practicing in-home end of life care. For years she has proudly served Jacksonville and the surrounding community, helping thousands of families all over northeast Florida. After the birth of her second son, Dr. Katie knew it was time to start her own practice and specialize in her true passion. Dr. Katie loves spending time with her family. Her favorite day would be a day doing anything with her husband and sons. She has two senior cats, and a rescue hound dog (who is very naughty!) and understands the challenges of caring for senior pets. She loves doing house projects, hiking adventures in the mountains, trying new restaurants, sailing, and watching a good TV show. Dr. Katie is so grateful to be able to continue the work she loves, sharing what she believes to be the most sacred space, as a family parts with their pet, in the comfort of their home. It is with great care that she performs this service for our pets and couldn’t imagine doing anything else. ------------------------------------------------- Follow The Hospice Vet: The Hospice Vet Website Follow On Instagram Follow On Facebook ------------------------------------------------- Shop Our Store! She then jokingly said "We can call it boobs and barks," and the name stuck! Since we both grew up with dogs and love them dearly, we quickly came to realize that there was a lack of options for practical matching dog and human apparel, especially when it comes to outdoor activities and actually making you look good! As our company began to come to life, we continued to search our hearts, and made 3 nonnegotiable commitments: 1) We will give back to dog rescues and save dogs' lives. 2) We will give back to breast reconstruction surgery and empower women. 3) We will make everything in the USA and support the country that gave us this opportunity. ------------------------------------------------- Follow Boobs and Barks: Boobs and Barks Website Follow On Instagram Follow On Facebook Follow On Pinterest Follow On TikTok ------------------------------------------------- Shop Our Store! S6E05 - Pet Wellness Unleashed: CBD and Adaptogens for Dogs w/ Angela Ardolino
Welcome to another episode of the Canine Culture Podcast! Today, Brittany is joined by Angela Ardolino, the Queen of Herbs, Empress of CBD, and Master of Mushrooms. Angela shares her inspiring journey of discovering the healing power of natural remedies, particularly CBD, for both herself and her beloved pets. In this episode, Angela dives deep into her background, from being diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis to becoming an advocate for natural medicine. She explains how she transitioned to a holistic lifestyle, including the use of cannabis oil, which dramatically improved her health. Angela's passion for natural remedies didn't stop there; she extended her knowledge to help animals, particularly through her 17-year rescue operation. Angela reveals the incredible benefits of CBD for dogs, emphasizing its role in managing pain, reducing anxiety, and even combating cancer. She discusses the importance of using full-spectrum hemp products and provides valuable tips on what to look for when purchasing CBD for pets. Tune in to hear Angela's compelling stories of rescue dogs transformed by natural medicine and learn how you can incorporate these powerful remedies into your pet's life. Don't miss this episode if you're curious about the holistic approach to pet health and the wonders of CBD! About Angela Ardolino Mission: To teach pet parents how to become their fur babies biggest advocates by using all natural remedies. It's time to take our pets off of toxic medications and begin healing them NATURALLY! About me: I have owned and operated my sanctuary rescue farm, Fire Flake Farm, for over 12 years. When I discovered that animals could benefit from medical cannabis (CBD Oil for pets) even more than humans I had to learn everything I could. I attended the University of Vermont's School of Medicines Medical Cannabis program and began my journey. Since then I have traveled all over the country educating veterinarians and pet parents how to use this incredible plant (and other amazing natural remedies) to help heal our animals naturally. I am your trusted pet health host on the Your Natural Dog Podcast! ------------------------------------------------- Follow Angela Ardolino: Angela Ardolino Website Follow On Facebook Follow On Instagram Follow On Twitter Follow On Youtube Your Natural Dog Podcast CBD Dog Health Email: angela@angelaardolino.com ------------------------------------------------- Shop Our Store!
