Martin Harries

This is a film podcast where we pick our favourite film topic, like a director, actor or genre, any subject related to film. Martin the host and Boaz or sometimes a guest, each pick a film to discuss from that topic. We discuss them in three different aspects of each film, Directing, screenplay and acting. Then we rank each aspect out of ten. Plus we pick our favourite shot or scenes, lines and performances. At the end we tally the points and see who wins.

On this one we talk all things Tom Cruise, is he a better stunt man now than an actor or just a plain nutter with a massive insurance bill. We talk about the incredible practical action scenes. And yes we bring up the CGI vs practical effects debate again, sorry not sorry. We talk about the amazing cast from Glen Powel to Val Kilmer. and Jenifer Connelly. We have a sly dig at inexperienced action directs and Boaz has a dig at Netflix about something you wouldn't expect. We also discuss whether wanda's emotional journey was realised strongly enough or wether Wandavision does the heavy lifting for you already. We talk about the brilliantly creative direction Sam Raimi achieves in this film and wether people we be put off by some of the more shocking horror elements of this film, barring in mind that this film is a Disney produced movie at the end of the day. We talk about all the certain superheroes that all sit in nice line which were most definitely the reshoots of this film. This week as the madness of the multiverse has arrived in the Doctor Strange sequel. Thats exactly what where covering this week, marvel cinematic universe sequels. As this subject is to huge to handle alone. We asked a podcast that was worthy enough to talk MCU sequels with, and they are the genre geeks. Warning we will be talking SPOILERSMartin and Boaz's pick for this week is arguably the best MCU film, period. And that film is Captain Americas third outing, Captain America: Civil War. On this one we talk about the Russo's directed the brutal action scenes and how physics go out the window at times. We talk why both Steve Rodgers and Tony Starks arguments about the accords are so well drawn out. Plus why Zemo is such a great villain and the brilliant introductions to Black Panther and Spider-man.
