It also highlights diverse womxn's stories, from Hend to Meriame, Sana, Ola, Zuhour, Arwa, Maya, and Hiba. قاسم المصري طبيب وناشط فلسطيني من قطاع غزة، بيعيش ببرلين من عشرين عام تقريباً، درس الطب بألمانيا وتخصص بطب الأطفال. بالإضافة لعمله كطبيب هو أحد منظمي ومؤسسي مهرجان صوت الثقافي في برلين  بالإضافة إلى أنه كان ناشط في حركة فلسطين بتحكي.في هذه الحلقة بياخذنا قاسم برحلة بين الماضي والحاضر ليخبرنا عن انطباعاته الأولى بمدينة برلين بالإضافة لطفولته ومراهقته بقطاع غزة وكيف أصبحت برلين وطناً لكثيرين من العرب ومتحدثي اللغة العربية وغيرهم. من خلال الحلقة اح نتعرف على تأثير إللي عم يصير بغزة على شارع العر. وكيف صار هالشارع نقطة إلتقاء كل المظاهرات الداعمة للقضية الفلسطينية بالمدينة.تم إنتاج هذه الحلقة  بدعم من راديو أثير كجزء من منح الإنتاج الصوتي بتمويل من الاتحاد الأوروبي ومعهد غوته.-Qassem Massri is a Palestinian doctor and activist from the Gaza Strip. He has lived in Berlin for nearly twenty years. He studied medicine in Germany and specialized in pediatrics. In addition to his work as a doctor, he is one of the organizers and founders of the SAOTCultural Festival in Berlin, in addition to being an activist in the Palestine Talks movement.In this episode, Qassim takes us on a journey between the past and the present to tell us about his first impressions of Berlin, in addition to his childhood and adolescence in the Gaza Strip, and how Berlin became a homeland for many Arabs, Arabic speakers, and others. Through the episode, we will learn about the impact of what is happening in Gaza on Sonnenallee. How did this street become the meeting point for all demonstrations in support of the Palestinian cause in the city?This episode was produced with support from Radio Atheer as part of audio production grants funded by the European Union and the Goethe-Institut.

حسندرا هي فنانة لبنانية مقيمة ببرلين منذ عام 2017. تخصصت بمجال المسرح بالجامعة اللبنانية وبعدها انتقلت إلى برلين وبدأت مسيرتها الفنية بميادين المسرح، الرقص والدراغ. شاركت حسندرا تأسيس كوير آراب بارتي، Critical Queer Solidarity كما فازت أيضا بلقب Mx. Kotti عام 2019. هي حالياً زميلة بعالم البودكاست ببودكاستها Baby I’m Home ومؤسسة حفلة قديرة ومهرجان قديرة للدراغ اللي رح نحكي عنه اليوم بظل تقلّص الفرص الفنية بالمدينة ومحاولات تكميم الجماعات العربية ان كان بالحياة العامة بالشارع أو بكافة الميادين التانية.Hassandra is a Lebanese artist based in Berlin since 2017. They majored in theater at the Lebanese University and then moved to Berlin, where they began their career in theater, dance, and drag. Hassandra has co-founded Queer Arab Party, Critical Queer Solidarity, and won the title of Mx. Kotti in 2019. She is currently a fellow podcaster with her podcast "Baby I'm home" and the founder of the Adira Party and the Adira Drag Festival, which we will talk about today in light of the lack of artistic opportunities in the city and the attempts to silence Arabic-speaking communities, whether in public life, on the street, or in any other field.

Foto Farid is not only a photography studio, it is one of the primary witnesses to the history of the street and its many evolutions. In the studio are pictures of our many visa applications, our heavy passports, and memories of weddings and celebrations of various Arab groups over their long years of migration/estrangement. In this episode we talk about the street, its history, and photographic encounters.

She is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Middle East Studies program at EUME in Berlin.Himmat holds a PhD in Sociology and two Master's degrees, one in Criminology and another in Gender Studies. Her work focuses on cities in a colonial context and she published extensively on gender, cities and settler colonialism, memory and oral history, indigenous knowledge, and resistance. On Land Day (ar: Yaum'al-ard), we will talk about Palestinian life in Berlin as part of a series starting with this episode to delve deeper into the Palestinian presence in Berlin and the beginnings of how Berlin in general and Sonnenallee in particular became a place for the largest Palestinian community and its wide networks of solidarity.

They are a visual artist, performer, dancer and choreographer. Michaela grew up in Egypt, studied arts and architecture in Syria, and lives in Berlin since 2015.They are currently pursuing their graduate studies at the Berlin University of the Arts, and live in the Arab Street, or very close to it, so to speak. Michaela uses the pronouns they/them.In this episode, we talk about the different forms of negotiating queer identitifications and their intersections in relation to other individuals and groups on a street thriving in/with abundant heterogeneities.

Maya studied political science and spent the last 8 years in Berlin, during which she volunteered in various associations and events and worked in the field of cosmetics, nails, and real estate. Er war mehrere Jahre für Reporter ohne Grenzen in der Nothilfe von Journalist*innen tätig. Aktuell gibt er Seminare zu Fragen der Antidiskriminierung und Diversität. 2019 startete er mit Freund*innen die Initiative Kein Generalverdacht, um auf die rassistische Stigmatisierung im Rahmen der “Clankriminalität” aufmerksam zu machen. Seither informiert und publiziert er zum Thema Antirassismus. Darüber hinaus gibt er regelmäßig Touren (alsharq-reise.de) über die Sonnenallee, in denen er über die arabische Straße und ihre Geschichte erzählt. [EN]Mohammed Ali Chahrour is a political and social scientist. He worked for Reporters Without Borders for several years providing emergency aid to journalists. He currently gives seminars on anti-discrimination and diversity issues. In 2019, he and friends launched the initiative Kein Generalverdacht (No General Suspicion) to draw attention to racist stigmatization in the context of "Clan Criminality". Since then, he has been informing and publishing on the topic of antiracism. He also gives regular tours (alsharq-reise.de) of Sonnenallee, in which he talks about the Arab street and its history.

She focuses on cross-cultural communication in her practice and explores counter-hegemonic narratives in her research. Arwa moved from Amman to Berlin in 2020 to pursue her Master's Degree in Sustainability in Fashion and Creative Industries. She currently works as a communication and network manager at the intersection of arts, culture, and migration in Berlin-زهور محمود هي ديجاي فلسطينية، ناقدة موسيقى وكاتبة مقيمة في برلين. Zuhour Mahmoud is a Palestinian DJ, music critic and writer based in Berlin-عُلا المشرف  موهبة الصاعدة في الستاند-أپ كوميدي، بدأت عروضها الكوميدية في نيسان/أبريل 2021 في برلين.  لعُلا خبرة في مجال التنمية الدولية في ما يتعلّق بالشأن السوري في تركيا، الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وألمانيا. Ola Almoushref is an aspiring stand-up comedian who started in April 2021 doing stand-up comedy in Arabic in Berlin. Ola comes from an International development background, working on the Syrian context, in Turkey, USA, and Germany

سنا ناشطة نسوية واجتماعية ومدربة تمكين نسائي بتشتغل بمجال إدارة التنوع والعمل ضد التمييز والعنصرية. سنا أم لطفلين وإلها ١٣ سنة بألمانيا، جزء كبير ومؤلم منهم بشارع العرب اللي لحد اليوم هو جزء كبير من ذاكرتها وحاضرها، حتى لو وقعه اختلف على حياتها ببرلين. عن هالعلاقة ودوامة التحديات المتبادلة بينها وبين الشارع رح نحكي اليوم.Sana is a feminist activist and a women empowerment trainer. She works in diversity management within anti-discrimination and anti-racism projects. Sana is a mother of two children and has been living in Germany for 13 years, a substantial part of which is in close proximity to Sonnenallee. The Arab Street constitutes a big part of Sana’s past and present memory, despite the ongoing frictions and developments in that dynamic. Today’s episode discusses this challenging relationship and ways of negotiating agency in everyday life.

Hassan has been living for 4 years in Berlin, following an extensive experience in F&B industries in several countries. This episode discusses community-making through food in the context of the Arab street, as well as dynamics of inclusion and exclusion through location, pricing, and targeted communication.

هبة عبيد صحافية فلسطينية سورية، درست الأدب العربي بسوريا واتنقلت بين تركيا ولبنان قبل ما تجي عبرلين بأواخر ال٢٠١٥ بعزّ التغيرات. عملت هبة وتدربت بمؤسسات إعلامية عديدة بعدها توظفت بالراديو الألماني الثقافي وبديت بودكاست عن يومياتها ببرلين. لهبة خبرة تمثيلية وحب للمسرح بالإضافة لكتابتها مقالات رأي وصرلها تقريباً سنتين ساكنة بشارع العرب أو بوحدة من الطرقات اللي بتتقاطع معه. عن هالتقاطعات الجغرافية، الحسية واليومية مع الشارع وناسه رح نحكي اليوم.  Hiba Obaid is a Palestinian-Syrian journalist. She studied Arabic literature in Syria and then moved between Turkey and Lebanon before settling down in Berlin towards the end of 2015, a crucial moment of change in the city. Hiba trained and worked in several media outlets and is currently employed at Deutschlandfunk Kultur where she started a podcast about daily life in Berlin. Hiba enjoys acting and theater as well as writing opinion pieces. For almost two years, she has been living at one of the Sonnenallee intersections; an entry point to this episode on the overlaps of geography, affects, and the everyday.

He has been living in Germany for 19 years and works in proximity to Sonnenallee. Shady’s daily encounters and experiences with different Arab migrants remain estranged despite the shared struggles of migration and the particularities of life in Berlin. Episode 5 of the podcast discusses the notion of the Arab-Other and the limits of negotiating common grounds for diverse histories and identifications.

She translates contemporary literary texts from Arabic into German and is the founder of 10/11, a collective for the dissemination of contemporary Arabic literature and the brains behind "Downtown Spandau Madina" FestivalSandra has a tight and intimate relationship with Arabic and Arab* communities. She lived for years near the Arab street and frequented its locales before the mass gentrification of the areaon this change and her relationship with Arabs* and Arabic, we elaborate in this 4th episode of the podcast

هند طاهر مترجمة وصحافية حرة ساكنة بشارع العرب ببرلين. هي مصرية وُلدت وعاشت بالقاهرة. درست هند الأدب الألماني بمصر ودراسات اسلامية وعلوم سياسية ببرلين. 'سنية شخلع' هو إسمها الفني كراقصة في 'كباريه سنية شخلع'، اللي هو عبارة عن جمعة ببيتها بشارع العرب أول سبت من كل شهر، 'على ما تفرج وتلاقي كباريه محترم يتبناها أو مخرج يكتشفها'، على حسب قولها. عن هند والشارع وتناقضات الغربة والانتماء منحكي بالحلقة التالتة من الپودكاست. Hend Taher is a translator and independent journalist currently living in Sonnenallee, Berlin. She was born and raised in Cairo, Egypt where she also studied German literature. Hend then migrated to Berlin to graduate in Islamic and political studies. 'Saniya Shakhlaa' is the artistic pseudonym she uses as a dancer at the 'Saniya Shakhlaa Cabaret', a gathering she hosts at her apartment in Sonnenallee, on the first Saturday of each month. 'Saniya is on the lookout for a better cabaret or a director to unravel her many talents leading to her artistic breakthrough' states Hend. In Episode 03, we discuss Hend's life experiences and her views on migration, belonging, and contrasting identifications.

عيسى خطيب مهندس فضاء وطيران فلسطيني مقيم ببرلين من 18 عام. بيعمل عيسى من زمن على خلق فضاءات ثقافية مفتوحة للجميع وأماكن بيقدر فيها سكان المدينة وزوارها بكل أطيافهم يمارسوا ويطوّروا فيها نشاطاتهم الفنية ويناقشوا علاقاتهم مع المدينة. اليوم عيسى على علاقة مباشرة مع بناء برلين بالمعنى التقني. عن هالعلاقة مع المدينة ككل ونويكولن/شارع العرب بالأخص منحكي معه بالحلقة التانية من پودكاست شارع العرب. Issa Khatib is an Aerospace engineer living in Berlin for 18 years. He worked on creating and curating inclusive and open cultural spaces for different communities in the city. Such spaces provided a room for experimentation and artistic expression, as well as multiple opportunities for dialogue and exchange.  In this second episode of the Sonnenallee Podcast, we discuss his involvement in the (technical) development of the city as well as his relationship with Neukölln and the Arab street.

He participated in numerous theater and television productions in Syria and his Ghorba (migration/estrangement). Bassam has worked on several projects and workshops including the co-founding of ‘Radio Souriali’ and the hosting of the ‘Hakawti Souriali' radio show since 2012.In this episode, Bassam shares his early experiences in Berlin and evokes daily stories as well as future aspirations of living and loving in Berlin. He moreover shares insights on his relationship with Sonnenallee and with the Arab communities in the city.
