Our Editor's Take

The ArsenalVision Podcast - Arsenal FC is a place where Arsenal fans can unite and share stories about their beloved soccer team. This is an independent podcast not affiliated with any major newspaper or TV station.

The primary host of the podcast is Elliot. Although he is American, he loves the team as much as if he was born in Holloway, North London. He brings a fast-paced energy and sincere passion for Arsenal to the show. Many listeners will likely find this zeal for the team relatable.

Elliot is often joined by the other three podcast hosts. Despite being from different countries, Clive, Tim, and Paul share a love of Arsenal. Clive's episodes are particularly interesting, as he is a professional soccer coach. As such, he has insights to offer about the technical parts of the sport. He explains how Bukayo Saka scores exceptional shots. He elaborates on opinion-based points, like why Martin Ødegaard is a great captain.

One aspect that listeners will likely appreciate is the frequency of the podcast. New episodes premiere several times a week throughout the year. This means that even when the team is inactive, fans can still be up to date with the latest news and reports.

The pacing of these episodes is fairly fast. The hosts are very knowledgeable and can easily discuss player and team stats. They don't slow down to explain things to people new to soccer. This podcast might be best for those who are already familiar with the game.

New episodes of The ArsenalVision Podcast - Arsenal FC air on Mondays and Thursdays and average 90 minutes in length.

The pod starts with a general overview of the joy of thrashing Chelsea and all the funny little moments on social media, at the ground, and on the pitch that made the occasion special. Then there’s a segment on the lineup, especially focused on the inclusion of Thomas Partey and Tomiyasu. The midfield dynamic is analyzed as the pod starts to get into the back and forth first half, why the game got so open, and the key incidents including the goal, the missed opportunities at both ends, and even a potential red card for Jackson. Arsenal’s second half dominance is discussed and that leads to the celebration of some special performances from players like Kai, Odegaard, Tomiyasu, Ben White and others. There’s a bit on the subs, where the victory leaves Arsenal, and then, a look ahead to Sunday’s North London Derby at Tottenham stadium. Chapter Three: Title IX

Chapter Three: Title IX
Founding Futbol is a year-long exploration of the critical moments that have led to football’s emerging popularity in America. Learn more at https://foundingfutbol.com/ In 1972, historic legislation was passed intended to create equity in the American education system. Title IX wasn’t about soccer; in fact, it wasn’t originally about sports at all. And, yet, it single-handedly gave women more the opportunity to pursue college through sports in ways that simply weren’t available before.  Soccer, through a combination of factors and then ultimately successes, became one of the primary sports to benefit from Title IX. That spurred growth of female participation in the youth game and also urged the US to ultimately participate internationally as well. Title IX may be one of the biggest contributing factors to how we have now become a soccer nation.  Sports historian Victoria Jackson is our guest. She is a professor at Arizona State University who writes and speaks about the intersection of sport and society, exploring how the games we play (and watch) tell us much about the communities – local, national, and global – in which we live. Her writing has appeared in the Los Angeles Times, Washington Post, Boston Globe, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Slate, Letras Libres (Mexico), El Universal (Mexico), Epoca (Brazil), The Independent (UK),The Athletic, and Sportico. Jackson has appeared on 60 Minutes to discuss American college sports and is a frequent podcast, radio, TV, and documentary film commentator on sport and society.  Visit our website for more information: FoundingFutbol.com Host: Kent Malmros Guest: Victoria Jackson (Sports Historian) Learn more about your ad choices.
